WOW!
« on: August 07, 2010, 10:36:08 am »

I had a new facelift 1000 ltr twin RO fitted yesterday!
When we drove it back from their depot last night, we immeadiately began to fill it up, ready for work Today.
You can imagine my horror when I started filling it, the waste water pipe exploded off giving me, the Van and Dobson a shower! That was at 9.30 pm. So I went to bed p***ed off!
I woke early this morning to investigate and found out I only needed to add another jubilee clamp (good job I had some ;D) tighten it up and fill up. After filling for an hour or two I set off to do a small factory near home.
Set up the hose, got the pole ready, switched on the pump and BANG! the hose that goes into the DI tank hadn't been tightened properly and I recieved a lovely cold jet of water right in the face!
Anyway I tightened it up and got going.
After looking the system over I can see I have plenty of things to tighten up properly. Seems they are all the same no matter who makes them! (Ionics too!)
So what have I learnt.......
Next time, just build my bloody own and forget these lot who "think" that they can manufacture a good system.
I will have to reconfigure where the DI Tanks, pumps and flow controllers are situated - Crazy!

As anybody else had these problems.

I also want to find out if anybody has got one of there hot water add on thingys - is it any good?
Do you know where they get them from- what make etc are they?
It would be better if I buy directly and get Dobson to fit one for me......
Enough moaning I'm going to get ready and go out on the beer......

I bought an Ionics pro-5 4 1/2 years ago and when I got home in leaked like a colinder! I luckily I dont live too far away so I could drop it back.
Have to say, I haven't had much problems since. Its still going strong.

Where has my post gone ?

Got to keep tabs on the competition somehow. I bet they've got Gardiners poles in the workshop and vice versa.

Isn't this the same bloke who was very rude about people who build their own systems.
Stating that people who built their own were probably dole cheats who only earnt enough money to keep them in the pub. Very satisfying to read this comment.

Can't I switch and try different systems?

Maybe you have assumed I am so into Ionics because I haven't slated them.

What system was it before (pre 1000l) what van is it in and how many men do you intend to use it?

I'd love 1000l but had to settle for 800l because of size of van required to fit on my drive (I have mwb tranny on it already).

The people who fitted mine are the best in the business- denver tanks-.

I used to be DIY,(I wasn't very good at it), far less down time now.But..... just as you were able to quickly fix and amend your system because you probably have more knowledge than the fitters, three years of my DIY gave me the know how to tell the pros how a perfect domestic system should be fitted.

Hi
You will have to give me the contact details for Denver Tanks.

My van is a Puegeot Boxer MWB - High Roof.
I had a 400 litre Pro-7 Thermopure in it before I had the 1000 litre system fitted.
I think that some of the systems would be better off with a tank - fitted and instead of the components fitted to the tank - such as filters, battery, pumps, controllers etc, they are better off elsewhere in the van - thus saving valuable space, etc.
We are going to move some bits about a bit, and put them into convenient places so as to make it easier to use etc

Always made my own systems, least i know everything is done properly.

Its not that hard, tank, pure water in, battery pump reel hose and a few connectors in between  ;D

So did we sensai,

I have two feeds from the tank. One goes to a heater and splits to two reels with seperate pumps varistreams (and 110 ah batteries). The other goes to a third pump varistream, which is either for a third operator or a quick fix in the event of problems.

I have two back to tank tap feeds. This helps depressurise overnight, diagnose system faults without going to the pole tap, and if reels are frozen the hot water will defreeze them in a few minutes by pressuring up and down a few times.

My reels are roof mounted, your van would be too big for this, but i bet there is an equally elegant solution.I want one of these vans in the future, the fiat version, and will no doubt come up with something.

Denvers number is 01604 875075

Heres a glimpse of my syste
