ive been and collected a few custys tonight and checked some of the windows.most were ok but 2 in particular were awful!i could see quite a bit of spotting even though it was cloudy(lounge windows as well!!).one custys didnt even notice and just payed! the other wasnt in and im sure ill get a few more complaints : :

im dreading going back to some houses!! :

im spending longer than trad and double rinsing,water is 000,its just so frustrating sometimes!im spending longer faffing around at night filling up/tightening hose connectors etc.doing me nut in today!!

im rinsing brush off(3in off the glass)/i clean brush regularly after every house with my hand.

the windows were plastic "wood effect" ones.

will a lot of these spotting problems go away after a few cleans cos after all im a window cleaner!!!if their not clean than i aint happy!!

they will go after a while, probably had a crap wc before you came along lol

some windows just need washing again

Daz - sorry mate it's just down to rinsing,  you may find you clean them then return after doing the other windows and going over again.

you need a high flow rate and only lift off 1/2 inch or so.

Do you know the weather forcast ??

Your doing great.

There's usually a reason.Spots at the top might mean dirty seal. Run a cloth over it with your finger.Anywhere water can be trapped and come down later is a problem.

You left faults when you were trad, train lines and drips down the edges.

I think one of the downsides to this type window frame on first cleans is that you cannot easily see when the frame is scrubbed clean, on white its relativley easy, or easier anyway. I'd probably concentrate on scrubbing the frames more. I don't want to go into a high flow debate but sometimes if you rely on a high flow rinse you take the chance of continually flushing dirt out the frame and seal.

daz hold the brush as close to the glass as you can especially at the top, saying that its your first time round with wfp so its inevitable you will have the odd problem with dirt coming from the top seal.

i converted some work a few months back and on the second time round i had two old boys demanding i didnt clean with that big pole as it was rubbish. i convinced them i would do it again and when i finished the street i would come back and check. i walked the whole street and low and behold they were right the windows were a right mess. so i sorted it out trad and on the next visit i kept the brush on the glass and gave the seals a really good scrub then again i walked round and knocked the two doors and they agreed they were perfect.

cheers lads ill hold the brush nearer the glass when im rinsing.

im finding the windows that bead and run down into little rivers a problem sometimes.should i gently brush and rinse to chase the water away in a zig zag motion?(eg brush on?)

Rinse on, high-flow rate cant go wrong.


I rarely bother to check even first cleans nowadays. Did one today, with wooden framed sash-windows.

pencil or fan if you use a mono brush and keep it on the glass with a high flow it makes no odds.

i have no idea how high a flow is 60 on the pure freedom as i dont have one.

daz you have an eye for spotting the problems and trust me you will find the solution sometimes it takes a while but you will get there

im sick of having to pull away and rinse off!im using a supalite dual trim flocked but some of you say its ok to rinse on?

ill have my supalite dual trim mono by tommorrow or monday and that will become my main brush.

sod it im going to rinse on for all windows now!!less strain at height!!

Mind where the jet (fan or pencil) goes, so you dont draw crud off the brickwork or upper frame/vent etc, scrub and rinse rinse rinse.

You rinse more, better and more thoroughly with a higher flow rate. Keep the brush on to save your muscles and to prevent too much splashback.

Its simple Daz, you're the one complicating it.

Fans are not better than pencil jets, you get the water where you want with pencil jets, with fans it goes everywhere (fans do sound rather nice though, but for results more so for a new person pencils without a doubt

No it doesnt.

Cant you hold a pole still or something? What twaddle.

With a normal fan jet you'll have two spray bands each about 4" wide, depending on how far from the glass you are.

If you rinse on or with just one end of the brush on and the other off you'll have a far far finer spray of water hitting the glass, it is because of this that rinsing with fans is superior to rinsing with pencils.
