It's not as crazy as it may first appears. I would often quote prices and the customer would say 'oh I cannot afford that price' or it's not worth spending that much money on it, and I always say something like, well what price had you in mind and we always end up agreeing on a price. Maybe you have to drop your price by ten or twenty euros but you are either gaining a new customer or retaining an old customer.
However, there is nothing to beat the customer who books you and when you have finished the job asks ' how much do I owe you now'.
