I never leaflet drop or cold calling as i advertise on yell.com and on google but most of my work come from word and mouth and been seen on the streets as for last week i picked up another 7 customers and started 2 filling station yesterday and also got a new customer for next month as i was cleaning a next door customer to them and also picked up 2 customers for today as they where taken there kids to school and one phoned her sister which i cleaned today and another customer came to me and i cleaned that house as well doing my complete day work for today.

And i pay myself £1,200 per month and the rest stay in my business account and some goes into a business saving account and a personnel saving accounts.

likes been said on this subject it depends what you want!i prefer to be a one man band earning a decent wedge for my style of living!low stress/low hassle,a few good holidays a year,bills paid,food in the cupboard,nights out and meals,cinema,clothes etc.

THE POINT IS FOR ME IS THAT IF THERES MORE MONEY COMING IN THAN GOING OUT THEN IM OK!!!!


there will be plenty of one man guys that earn more than me and a lot that earn considerably less!!the problem with window cleaning is that you can have some really mega weeks then a lull due to bad weather/van problems/health/injury etc that eat into your profits.

by the time ive paid all my overheads and tax there is not much left!!

BUT AS LONG AS THERE IS MORE MONEY COMING IN THAN GOING OUT IM EARNING A LIVING!!!!

not many will be telling the truth i find it hard to believe people can earn 3k plus a month unless you got a really special round,i earn around £400 a week and cant see how i could go any faster to earn big money in the future especially with british weather

£3k turnover a month with WFP is nothing special.  It would probably take a fair while to build up to that though after much pruning of customers who mess about.
Or did you mean £3k income rather than £3k turnover?

You are joking Clive, 2 man set up can cost you money and time, I would love to go out with you for a day and see what can really be done

I think a lot of people on here have selective memories. They may well from time to time earn £600-£700 pw but conveniently forget the many weeks where they've been weathered-off and have only earned £200

I have long since given up on trying to believe it but the trouble is newbies and people thinking of starting up read it.

Clean flush and empty gutters at £7.50 a metre and you can only do 5 metres an hour.

That includes surveying the guttering first, then setting up the vac and vaccing the gutters (in some situations I may have to go over the same peice of gutter twice) then set up the pressure washer and anf flush it, then apply TFR to the outside and fascias and soffits let it soak for 5-10 mins then pressuer wash it, then clean the windows. it all takes time.
plus when you are charging people £120 to clear and clean the gutters they would certainly moan if you raced around and did it in hour and half.

earnings vary so much, you just dont know what peoples expenses really are.

I think a post on turnover would be better.

I have a few vans and employ a few people.

I expect my staff to turn over £500-£600 per day if a pair and £250-£300 per day if out alone

Yes thats because I moved to Essex from the midlands as I moved in with my girlfriend.
Everything is picking up very nicely now. must the time of year lol
winter isn't the best time to try and build a window cleaning round.
