I only use them on public roads and pavement, I don't use them on private ground of residential customers.

I only use them on commercial properties and when I am unable to park my motor on the drive and it croses the path when there is a risk of people tripping over it

Pavements, one either side of the pavement so as not to block folks pathway.

I use one if there is any chance that a member of the public could trip over my hose. Often use two or more f it's on a commercial job. Never use any if I'm backed into someones property.

I bought three last week from fleabay. £50 free postage. Window cleaning superstore

I've never heard of them before. Think they may be cheaper on ebay.

i have 5 cones i bought from the local screwfix depot and use them on quite a few commercial jobs i do. i have a dispute running with a local bus company though as a bus drove past me whilst i was working ( i was wearing hi-viz ) and the bus took out my cones and nearly hit me >:(
the bus company are doing there best to drag it out though and keep forgetting to get in touch, they even called me a liar and said i never contacted them at all about it!
its been 9 months now and i think a letter to the local paper may be in order

We use them wherever we think there is risk to another person other than ourselves.

Of course it does create a problem because in theory when operating in a public area if you put a warning sign out it follows that you should provide a risk assessment and method statement

Pretty much the same for but when I need the hose to cross the public footpath, I also lay rubber mat(s) over it.

I don't use them, if they can't see a bright yellow hose then really should try specsave :)
