6 months in and I agree, an ipod or little radio is a must

i prefer working on my own most of the time but i do use my ipod for music/radio sometimes esp on the very compact parts of my round where i have 2 weeks work without hardly having to move my van and theres not many custys in!! ;) ;D ;D

i do chat and have a laugh with some custys while im working.helps the day along! ;) ;D ;D ;D

i also tend to find the days fly by when im working hard!!
price higher/work harder!

I work alone too and some days are good with interesting chats with customers.  See no one in the winter though!

Any recommendations for a portable DAB radio.

I have an ipod equivalent but would prefer a radio.

Looking for one with a bit of qualtiy that someone is already using successfully.

I nearly always work alone, rarely listen to radio or ipod,.. but rarely get bored. If boredom was an issue I doubt I ever would have lasted in this job as there's nothing i find more demoralising.

Yes, years of working alone will either push you over the edge if your're a tiny bit depressed, if that doesnt get you, the Seasonal Affective Disorder  in the winter will.   :P

I hope thats cheered everyone whos thinking of starting up.   FACT :'(

I have an imaginary work mate. I get him to trad all upstairs windows while I do down downstairs. My customers are ok with this and are all keen to pay and go back indoors quickly, so no hanging about getting paid either.
