I work with the mrs or wor lass as Chepstows most famous shiner says  :)

You work with Tosh's wife trippy? Does he know about this or does he just think she's out on a very long run?  ;)
It's a game of three halves!

I work alone too and some days are good with interesting chats with customers.  See no one in the winter though!

Any recommendations for a portable DAB radio.

Looking for one with a bit of qualtiy that someone is already using successfully.

This one ticks all the boxes John,

Thanks for that info Michael - looks good   :)

My wife has bought me an iPod Shuffle. It's tiny, there's no screen to get broken and it's 2gb so it holds more than enough music and podcasts for a days work! Podcast-wise, check out The Bugle, Rum Doings, Fighting Talk, and any of the How Stuff Works ones (particularly Tech Stuff and High Speed Stuff)

Yep I work on my own now, had a few people work with me but after a few weeks I can't wait to get back on my own, I actually find that I get more done on my own and having someone with me slows me down, with the exception of my brother! When we get together its like the window cleaning olympics as we both try to work faster than the other!!! Unfortunately I can't persuade him to join me full time!  :(  I never listen to the radio apart from in the van, drives me mad having that constant noise in my ears!! I do use a stopwatch a lot and note how long jobs take me, then I challenge myself to beat that time the next time I clean the house, as long as I'm earning good money the I'm not bored!!!  ;)

I've got three kids, I love working on my own.  ;D

IPOD on most of time, not music but podcasts, the BBC has a good range, well it's good if you're an old fart like me.

LOL.

I may work with Wor Lass and sometimes it's great, and at other times I really enjoy my own company and working by myself.

But even though I work with her, we work independently mostly.  This morning for example we cleaned about 10 semis in one street.  I start on 1st floor and WFP the tops and she starts on the ground floor.  Within half-an-hour I'm about four-or-five houses in front of her and the last bunch of houses I clean 100% WFP and we tend to finish at around the same time.

Tomorrow morning we start with a £50 inside and out job.  She'll start on the insides, I'll start on the outsides and once I finish that I'll go and clean a £30 neighbour - outside only - while Wor Lass finishes the inside of the 1st property, gets paid and then she'll help me finish the neighbours.

So although we 'work together', we're always in separate places.

I can understand why that would suit her... ;D

i work on my own and it doesn`t bother me. I get to see different people every day and it also gives me alot of thinking time. I`ve had someone working for me in the past which seemed to slow me down a bit.
Just lately though im teaming up with another window cleaner and a good friend of mine to do some larger jobs. All in all i love my job if im on my own or not.

Wor = Our also known as 'My'

Lass = Woman

Therefore

Wor Lass = 'My' Woman

It's a Geordie term.
