I don't sell any resin to anyone & have no vested interest in any brand of resin. Thus i have no reason to manipulate any result & to suggest so shows immaturity implying it.

However, i have helped many, many wfp'ers save lots of money on resin by them changing resin brands & set up- Fact!

There are better resins on the market than the ones wfp suppliers sell us, specificaly to do the same job but at higher flow rates. This is what i would be using if i didn't have di's on my van, but i do, so you'll have to do your own research on that one.

Try my suggestions or don't, save money or don't, makes no odds whatsoever to me. ???

Well said Tony

Suppliers will only see ££££, funny though many suppliers want Tulsion so it must be good ;) But then again profit margins are lower than the other brands.

Dowex again is a very good resin, same again profit margins are lower. ;)

Alex's tests will only be inclusive to his water quality so his tests will not reflect it UK wide.

My advise like Tony has said try all brands to see what best suits you if you use a lot of resin.

Exactly the point I was making Doug.  Chemical composition of the water really does affect the resin performance.

If the profit margins are lower on Tulsion surely this is only because it is being undersold?  If it is in demand and people find they get a lot longer out of it, surely they would be prepared to pay 10% more for it than other brands?  Or in reality, are people buying resin purely based on price rather than actual performance?

As most suppliers know the real cost of resin has risen very sharply in the last three months and yet most suppliers (including myself) have not passed this rise on to the consumer. Is this because we are afraid of the consumer being ruled by their wallet rather than the quality of the product?

It's a very difficult one to judge  :-\

My overheads are cheaper, in Scotland rates are being scrapped in your rent is below xxx ;D. My strategy is to get product x to the customer with the lowest overheads possible, so hence why I have priced Tulsion at that price.

Price vs quality, price will win 80% of the time, it's human nature.

But the biggest winner is customer satisfaction, hence why a lot of folk up my way have asked if I could start supplying other products. The biggest problem with a lot of suppliers and even we in the window cleaning industry is someone we employ can destroy our name as they do not have the same loyalty and pride as we do.

Trust me I am coming accross these in the manufacturing industry here in the UK , hence I will hopefully be supplying a new range of products from abroad. Costs are coming up but in my past experience I have wide knowledge how to handle this and sales men don't like it but you have to be like it in this game  ;)

Back to resin, yes costs will go up but there is always a way to overcome them until all your tacts are exhausted.

Although i would never recommend purolite as i HAVE tested it back to back with dowex, AND they ARE worlds apart, I'm sure that some other quality brands of resin are as good, just that i've not personaly used or tested them, so i can't comment on their performance.
So, my point being, i'm not saying dowex or tulsion are the best on the market, they just out-perform purolite by miles & maximise a twin DI set-up to it's full potential. ;)
