Ive only done a handfull of jobs after getting my machine a few weeks ago.

But what i would definitely recommend ios get a van mounted machine.

It doesnt seem much but dragging than machine out with the wheelie bin and all the other gear to get setup and packaway easily adds 30 mins to the job. A van mount would be much easier and quicker for smaller jobs imo. I think i will van mount mine and then maybe get a smaller machine maybe second hand as backup/portbale option just in case i come across somewhere i cant reach.  Machine is heavy and ramps can be a little slippy, i was close to dropping mine today.

Imagine just pulling up and just pluggin hose reel to your buffer tank in the van, pulling a reel out with lance on and away you go...

When I get any problems I call Ben at Rutland Pumps who usually knows the problem. That's the reason I like using them, great aftersales.

Jobs like this make up the bulk of my best work, small/medium independent business’. £120-£150 depending how close to other work and how much I wanted it. Invoiced same day and 14 day payment terms.

At the most, I would suggest 30 to 40 minutes a side. Multiply that by your hourly rate.

There are always a couple of issues you need to consider. When would you do it, foot traffic and vehicle parking? When I'm asked to quote, I ask myself if this is a job I could do when the building is closed. It makes things much easier if you don't have to deal with pedestrians and traffic.

I do believe that the worst part of the clean is going to be those glass canopies.  We had them when we cleaned the local school. They consist of flat plates of glass which are the linked together with clear silicone. In no time, the silicone attracts moss and lichen. If you try to get the moss and lichen off, you run the risk of 'damaging' the seal.

You really need to be working off a ladder cleaning those canopies, which from a H&S perspective, is a no-no. They will want you to tie off the ladder to the canopy frame and then wear a front clip safety harness tied off to the canopy frame as well. (Like the Sky satellite installers use.) The other suggestion is a short scaffold tower.
Depending on your course of safety action, then you need to add that to your estimate.

I'm guessing they will need to see proof of Liability insurance and I expect they will also need you to provide a RAMS (risk and method statement) document. This is why cleaning when the building is shut removes a lot of the risk involved.

Are you licensed? (comment from Slacky)
Not sure if this question is for me?
I dont currently have a PASMA certificate, but looking into it.
If we use a scaffold tower, i have a guy who helps me put it up, he's been using scaffold for years, so i'm sure hes deemed competent as they say.
We would only use a tower, not actual scaffold, generally low level for bungalows...

Thanks for the replies guys, much appreciated.
I have an inline filter, so dont think its muck in the pump.
When the engine is idling (nothing in use) it ticks over fine, with the release valve open and the water circling around the pump and back to the water tank. (i dont leave it idling for long, as i was told the water could overheat and cause damage to the pump?)
I then close the release valve and it can start to judder straight away, or sometimes when im using a fsc or lance (its all working fine), i then let go of the trigger, and the machine will judder around, when i then try to open the release valve, the valve will feel stuck and under pressure like there is air in the system?
Anyway, i will have a look at some of the things mentioned, see how i get on - many thanks
