I will be starting on the glass at 8 a.m. and see how it goes.
We don't have to work in it if it gets in the mid thirties so I won't be.
I will be happy enough to get a bit done early doors then enjoy the rest of the day  ;D

If I had to I would, but I brought forward work to Friday and Thursday just gone so don't plan to restart until Wednesday.

When it is high 20's forecast I have the two bottles of squash/water in the van and I use the aircon between jobs too.

North of 30 degrees is so rare I take the time off for a day or two.

Off to a beach in South Wales tomorrow. It's 'only' 30 forecast there whereas Bristol is forecast 34/35.
It's a game of three halves!

If they cancel all the horse racing and the pubs are full because of the beer garden brigade, I might have to go and do a bit of work instead.
But like most others I'll be on the glass early 🍺.

I don't know who the Chancellor is these days- it changes more than the BoJ changes his bird and his story- but I was hoping for a grant to see us through this national emergency.
It looks like I'll have to do some work to pay for the neck oil then  :-\.

He does have a hotplate though; I've seen the edivence. That'll be his downfall when he gets investigated for tax evasion or money laundering.

Off to a beach in South Wales tomorrow.

National Emergency, warning to stay indoors and hydrate and you throw caution to the wind and go the beach ?
 ;D ;D ;D

We decided not to in the end. The thought of melting tar and melting us stopped the plan. So we sat outside under the lean-to roof until about ten am (there's posh!) and since then we've sat around the house with fans going but won't use the air con until tonight at bedtime.

Meanwhile little Gold in that there London Town has finished Uni and has gone swimming at one of the lidos before going on shift at the pub where she works. She gets free cold soft drinks on shift and a free alcoholic drink at the end of her shift.
It's a game of three halves!

Well, mixing this with the Heatwave thread, I'm just working slightly shorter days and concentrating on getting through the work. I had a month off in May and now I have to catch up - there are worse problems I know. Plenty of fluids, factor 50 and keeping covered as sensibly as possible and taking my time are key. It's about knowing your limits as it's more a marathon than a sprint.
I'm also using the weather as a TwUnT Indicator - I have a few customers who are quite likely to sit there with a drink and watch me work. They're the ones who will be getting another price hike  8)

First full day on a 5 day College clean. 28 degrees already.  I reckon this afternoon may be a real test.

i worked 815am til 130pm......it was reading 39c in the van on the way home!...this weather could easily tip me over into sun stroke territory i reckon..ABSOLUTELY BAKING OUT THERE!

I would say it could be dangerous working more than 6 or 7 hours in this....it was a lot hotter this morning than yesterday first thing

Just finished. 7:30 - 3:30 but took a full hour for lunch and rested whilst the van filled up.

Wasn’t too bad really, wouldn’t want to be overweight or unfit working in this heat though, then it could get dangerous.

It did me in today . Walking to the fridge to get a strongbow . I told the lads , if your having the day off you can get off your lazy arses and be my waiter for the day . That lasted about  2 trips until they rebelled and told me to get my own . Luckily the girls were off school and they still do as there told .
