Clean frequency
« on: April 25, 2010, 07:57:08 pm »
I have some custies on a 4 week (seems to come around very quickly) most of my current business is every 8 weeks and the way I see it that will give me more of a spread of income (because I need more customers to fill the round) and hopefully less income fluctuation in winter with people saying come back in the spring. Just wondered what the most used clean frequency was.

Most of my domestic customers are 4 weekly while some are 6 weekly and the odd one or two are 8 weekly because of the size and my charges.

As for any customers who say I will see you in the spring at winter time, well they will be waiting for longer than they thought, because I consider that as a cancelled job and I never go back to a cancelled job.

2 weeky is a northern thing, they get away with it because there charges are very lwo IMO (not bite me for beng honest)

I clean 4 or 8 weekly 4 is normal

dont be fooled into think just because your 8 weekly customers will not say wait till spring

THESE ARE NOT CUSTOMERS YOU WANT ON REGULAR WORK PATTERNS, KEEP THEM ALL THE SAME BUT CHARGE THEM A YEARLY PRICE CUT DOWN TO HOW OFTEN THEY WANT THE CLEAN, SO YOU DONT LOSE OUT. sry for shouting

on a previous thread someone said that more light in the summer meant that you could clean more and less light in the winter etc meant that if you lost some it was not so bad, in fact quite useful as long as you had a solid base round. I'm new so these are just thoughts' not sure what will happen in practise

I work my round on a 4 day week even though I clean 6 days a week, 10.30 to 14.00.

What this means is if I wanted I could cover my whole round in 4 days and this would only happen because of the weather of trade show visits.

plan you work around winter hours, then you can earn more as can staff if you want them in the the summer months, dont do this and you will be in a right mess by the winter, rain make no diffrenece learn this now and stop yourself fom being help back in the future like many window cleaners on here.

Bolton?
I just wondered with somebody saying 2 weekly.
Old Northern window cleaners seem to do 2 weekly scheduling and charge a pittance

five weeks for mine. Six to seven if the weather's bad, couple of months if I don't like them, six months for dog pooty gardens then never again if they don't clean it up.

he cant speak english I bet money on it  ;D

2 weekly in the south does not happen unless the window cleaners is very slow or just come out of prison for robbery
you'd have to have a certain mindset :P sounds like the fourth bridge type job, a bit monotonous/mountainous
