hi everyone i'am new here, and what a good site lot's of info!
i've just started a driveway/window cleaning and gum and graffitti removel,i started leaflets dropping but was a big waste off time(dropped about 4000 and had one call) i don't fancy door knocking but that gonna hav to be my next step. and i've just taken and an ad in the local paper, which come's out next week, just not sure what else i can do, money's abit tight at the mo, cheers for any rely's i'am in essex area.

hi
leaflet drops a total wasteof time effort and money

local advertising  will generate some work but a lot of peopleare away at this time of year. my response from my ad has disappearred over the last 3/4 weeks

door knocking works if you can stand it. knock and show them your leaflet.

haven't tried yellow pages. read the post mentioned above but pressure washing is not like cleaning in that they areone off jobs so you are always chasing work ''till repeat business comes after about 2 years. recommendations will come if you do a good job and begin to get known but it aint easy.

Another thing to think about : Get yourself an A Board (pavement sign) and place it outside any job you are working on. People are usually a bit intrigued (ie nosy) when they see and hear us working on driveways. Always make sure you have plenty of cards and/or leaflets with you to hand out to people who ask. You could also stick cards/leaflets through the doors of adjoining properties to where you have done a job - just write on them something like "Have a look at No. 22 for a sample of what we can do for you" - this can cause a keeping-up-with-the-Joneses ripple of work

Another one for you : offer a free demo especially for commercial sites eg hotel car parks but make sure not to do too much. When they can see the difference bewtwen the old and the new it can make it too embarrassing for them to say no.

Hi all
If you are going to do the leaflet drop, as has been mentioned already on this site and sales talks i have been to, you need to select an area to drop the leaflets and then keep targetting the area every month with leaflets. People will soon recognise the leaflet or keep it and it keeps you in their minds each time it comes through their door. Try this and see if it works in a small area. When they see the leaflet they may throw it away because they do not need your services. But if you keep on posting them, then one day when they do need you.....the rest will be history for you.
