taking it the room is 10 yards x 10 yards well you gotta do your bit for charity suppose so would do it at £1.50 sq yd to £2.00 sq yd assuming travel wasnt too much of a factor and any furniture was being left/gone around so id be looking at quoting between £150 to £200 depending on charity type/soiling etc,making damm sure they know where their kettle/biscuit barrell is

that price looked a bit high when i looked again but its the room size is equivelant to 5 standard lounges its a big ol area plus the stain removal no id stick with it myself theyre the charity not me

75p sq yd gary wow mate can you come to edinburgh and do a 2 bed,lounge,hall and bathroom oh and a 2 piece suite when your at it

i guarantee the frannies would quote £2.50 to £3 a yd square charity or not and that would be cheap for some of them

They could buy a new carpet and get it fitted for less than that though!!

yeh appreciate that they probably could get a cheapo at that price but its never that simple its a charity so how much distruption do they want/need,is cpt glued etc a lot of folk especially businesses will accept a quick freshen up rather than the upheaval that replacement causes.there is a big office block on the west side of edinburgh we used to "clean" it all(hundreds of m2) twice yearly whilst working for one of the big frannies it got a quick spray and a quick bonnet buff and virtually no stains were removed i was embarassed with the results but they paid up happily every time rather than have it replaced(much aggro) as far as i know they still have that franny in to do it just as often...must have cost a few quid as well as it was all done at night/weekends

so are you doin my gaff or not edinburghs great at this time of year with the festival and ive already cleared most of the rooms in anticipation

tell them you have a minimum call out charge of £65 but you'll waive it because they are a charity and do it for £30 as long as you get a free advert or mention in there monthly newletter

The charity job was the10 by 10 room I did tellthem my minimum charge was £50 

However if they agreed to use me as their prefered cleaner on a regular basis rather than one off I would be prepared to do it for £25.


The Gravey stain was £50 he agreed to pay.


Just wondered what your minimum charges were for these small jobs.

Depends what kind of charity it is, if its in a childrens hospice or the like I'd just do it free of charge. You would probably get a few of the staffs houses to clean etc "and" it would make you feel good  knowing youv'e done your bit for charity - then when you get all the phone calls asking you to support charities as we all do, you can proudly say " we donate direct to charities, by means of xxx" but thanks anyway.

I did a job for such a shop the other week, took them 4 weeks to pay after telling me that they had sent a cheque in the SAE that I provided (that cheque NEVER arrived).

Read in local paper last weekend same shop had had a fire and had been closed for a week for cleaning, did thay ask me to do the carpet again?? NO, if they had would I NO.

If they had tpld me the truth about payment, I would have done it for FREE, but remember 'What goes round comes round' and in this case it was 2 weeks.
