Customer Loyalty
« on: April 21, 2010, 09:28:13 pm »
Hi All,

I've noticed a lot more window cleaners popping up in my area...

A customer of mine (has been for 4 years) recently moved house - She called me asking if I could quote for her new house.

I turned up, looked around the house and quoted her £20 every 8 weeks... She said a new window cleaner (who is just starting up in the area) had turned up 2 days before me and quoted her £12 for every 8 weeks... So I thought she was going to turn my quote down, but she accepted my quote of £20 saying she is happy with my work and doesn't want to change!

It's nice to know customer loyalty still exists!

Andy

Yes you can be all of these, but never over estimate customer loyalty, I have cleaned for customers for 15 years and been dropped like a stone for some young handsome guy.
I have also been dropped without any explanation many a time, you would think after 15 years you would deserve at least a complaint if there was something wrong.
OK I'm 67, I guess some of them are hedging their bets in case I won't be round much longer. The older long standing ones are the worst offenders, the pensioners that I have not put up the prices for years.
The old ones still have not come to terms with WFP, they think that as I do the job quicker, I am not value for money.
I am an easy going guy, and never get complaints about my work, but I never take loyalty for granted.

I do not think it's loyalty...it's just the devil they know...

I have no loyalty towards my 'flock' I always try to do the best job I can in the most reasonable time...but if I won the lottery tommorow..I'd drop the lot in a heartbeat.

Don't get too personal with your customers...a friendly approach is good but they are just money cows...
The more I know the less I know I know ...

I don't think there is much loyalty, just familiarity and habit. Being regular and reliable is one of the things that doesn't get mentioned much on here but is every bit as important as price.

How often have you heard a customer when talking about their old window cleaner say "you never knew when he was going to turn up" or "he only turned up when he felt like it"

Customers like to know where they stand
