You usually here bad reports from people who can't afford them and build their own stuff.
Seems like a lot of jealousy out there from the house window cleaners, who are probably on the dole! Building kits with their government money whilst in the Pubs.

To be honest Ionics have probably been around the longest and definately build the best stuff, never had a problem with them over the years (except for a naff battery at the moment ???)

Some of there poles are good but some are poor

when I say poor I mean in weight not in build quality.

there gooseneck is very heavy( or the one I have is) if used for domestic work, I have a few of there poles, all still work, but no longer use them due to the weights of the gooseneck and pole, they are kept just in case.

there wfp systems are good, but highly priced for what else is on the market today.

They was the only one that had crash tesed system, this is now not the case.

They do bring out new things, all high priced but sometimes you get what you pay for.

have to say Ionics products are very well made, and customer service good

As a window cleaning contractor I would only use there systems we have had 9 over the last five years and can not fault them at all

You get what you pay for

I've had a system for 6 years. In that time I have only had to replace the pump, apart from that it has never let me down once!!!!

It cost under 1k & I put it together myself! ;D

I did look at Ionics, I had the cash after making 66k profit on a house sale but I just couldn't get the word "MUG" out of my head!! ;D ;D

Take a joke boyo ;D Lifes too short to pretend you are serious all of the time!

As for the Scottish, they have always been tight LOL and won't part with their hard earned millions.
I wonder what it is like when a customer looks inside their vans when they build their own kit? How do they explain the mess inside the van, and then have the gumption to say or think that they are pro's

Don`t do it.  I got barred from my local for trying to build my system whilst in there.

A friend had the ergolite pole which I borrowed a few times but struggled with due to back problems.
Since then I've invested in a gardiners SL2 at a fraction of the price and it's a dream !! I can't start to describe how much better it is in every way. I've not used the telescopic version but I'm sure it's every bit as good. So, proof that you don't have to pay £1k+ for a decent pole.

Scene - Household name office block.

Facilities Manager: Well Mr. Rhino, your quotation seems fine - but there is one last point - I need to check inside your van.

Spearmint Rhino: Of course, of course - come out into the car park.

(Confidently he skips down the stairs, through the revolving doors to his '59 plate Vivaro. He throws open the doors.)

FM: Oh dear! Your van is last years model, you haven't got an Ionics Thermopure 8 set up and there is a piece of insulation tape on that wire - that's it! You're fired!

And then he wakes up in a cold sweat. Relieved that it was all a bad dream.

I would say Ionics are very good.....at marketing.

The above poster is like many who lack the imagination to decide for themselves what to buy, but are lead by the nose by a slick sales pitch.
I would respect your opinion more if you could spell properly.

Hi to set the record straight I built my first waterfed pole system back in 2002 from components bought mainly from a Dowex importer up North. I then used to build, sell and fit systems, to many other window cleaners vans. I designed facelift's first system and their first trolley - the Pig was designed and built in Bradford, by me.

So you see, I know all about building systems, but after seeing the quality in other window cleaners vans of Ionics kit, I decided somebody else was doing something rather well, with a great deal of time invested in design and research, not just in their marketing. I never had a demonstration from them, I just bought their equipment from then onwards, and until somebody makes a better system I will continue to do so ;D

I don't have a problem with people using any brand they like. My post was merely a reaction to your childish insults against people who self build.
Suggesting that people who self build are dole cheats who spend all day in the pub.
I have been WFP for 7 years and can afford whatever the hell I choose.
I prefer to enjoy my money, and spend it on me and my family.
For me the maths is simple:
Ionics system £10000 and very good
Self build £1000 and works very well. = £9000 in my pocket.
As I have the nous to build my own why would I waste £9000. Should I do so to impress someone, if so who? You?
I think that some people buy more expensive systems in order to feel better about doing what is a fairly low status job. Personally I'm not so insecure.
The Ionics will not earn YOU more money or make your life easier but will cost you more.
