repairing blown units

Hi guys,

Does anyone know if repairing blown dg units is any good, and what the costs are, i have a custy that has several blown and might try repair if its ant good

a long time glass guy told me it Never works to try a repair.a little hole is drilled in the corner and a special valve is pushed in to let the moisture out. the moisture gets out okay  But theres a stain left on the glass inside and this looks bad
