Its all gone Pete Tounge for me !

Had to abandon my van this morning. We were taking the hire van back... Me driving that and my wife in our expert. She pulled over and said the van wouldn't go into 2nd or 4th.

Seems the gearbox has gone. I've got 14 jobs to do on my old round on monday, a round builder starting work for me on monday, 2 days work cleaning, painting, tidying our old house, a new house to unpack.

All with no van.... Stressed big time !!!

probably just the gear linkage.

Should cost about £100 to fix.

1st 3rd and 5th are still working

i am sure you could get enough rev's / speed out of first and change into 3rd , then again 5th

Yes was the linkage... Bolt came out that was all. Van now fixed and the woman at the garage wouldn't have any money. So I'm going to clean her windows free of charge as a thankyou and will be using that garage from now on.

Matt... Yeah the revs were fine, problem was I got it stuck as it wouldn't reverse.

Van is 14yrs old 178k

How happy am I ;D

Yes was the linkage...

 ;D

came across it twice.

first time was an escort van. it would go down the gear box [2nd and 4th] but not up, 1,3 and 5th

second was a citroen berlingo.... i was tryin to be a smart arse, doing clutchless changes ;D tried going from 1st to 2nd.  CLUNK.    couldnt get in any gear ;D

luckily, both times, was a works van ;D
