How to decrease water flo on a backpack?
« on: April 14, 2010, 12:54:04 am »
Have just bought a backpack and would like to know if its possible to decrease the water flo, as its coming out too fast even on the lowest setting. Are there nozzles i could get to make water last longer or would that cock the pump up?

Any suggestions?

someone on here split it the feed hose with taps into three so the spare two when open relayed back into backpack.

Close the switch on the tap, if you dont have a tap I would strongly recommend putting one on.

I tried to put a tap in on a 50 litre system I had some years ago, but it didn't really work.  It somehow would move and my flow rate was all over the place.

What sort of tap would you recommend?

a microbore tap, the ones from WCW are very good, I've been using them several months with no leaking and the tap is still firm.

My shurflo is about three-or-four years old, and it's still going strong despite the hammering it's had; and it has been hammered.

But I bought a WCW backpack (should be here tomorrow) as a back up, so thanks, Matt.

  Tosh,
A bit off topic but how much water do you use (on average) a day?
Do you use a car and is your water in containers?
             Cheers,
                          Gerry.

hose from backpack

split into 2 using a Y joint

1 tail just joined back to the pipe ( thus going up the pole )

1 tail returning back into the backpack tank , on this pipe fit a little tap, when you need more flow at the brush, close the tap, when you need to slow the flow down, just open the tap a little
