You're stressing Dave.
We are mostly our own worse enemies
The suns shining, windies have dropped off & there's oodles of work.
Just do what you need. Life is to enjoy.

(And give the rest to me!)

;D I've got some work in your town that I really don't want. When I can work out a way of letting them down you are welcome. Darn woman is on a mission to get me more too.

dave you not working till 7 then tommorrow?? ;) ;D ;D

ive been there many times before mate.like i said in a previous post a few days ago.i prefer to work steady and hard say 9am-4pm(maybe 430 some days) then head off home.

if i try and work longer and cram work in i end up burning myself out and havin a day off later that week or the next or just get fed up with the job!

your in a good position to sell a bit of work on if you dont want to employ and charge higher for new work.

best wishes

Dave really ? I couldn't face that. I have several jobs that are months behind because I can't bring myself to phone up the night before. Maybe a break would be good. Haven't had any time off for three years now (apart from when it snowed).

Daz seven is looking very likely if I can stick it out. Worked yesterday too for a while.

I have a set days work each day. Each day has a name correlating to the location. Each day is enough work to cope with ( about £200). If the work builds up too much in this area then  I create another named day. I have six full weeks of this but want to have an 8 week repeat as folks are more pleased to see me.
When the 8 weeks are full then it's time to say NO.
Keep your finger on the button, keep
in control.

Daz

I couldn't do what you do, maybe one day when I am rich enough, work to me is about 80 hours a week, i never stop, always planning wats forward, new strategies.

sometimes I yearn for the good old days, just me and the rusty old Ford Sierra

Motivation has not gone but sitting here, just had a wicked roast beef with yorkies and should have emailed the clients for tom but cannot be bothered. I want to hold on to the weekend. I will do it tom and clean those custies that are more relaxed about getting notice re. when I am cleaning.
Good intentions eh!

i regulary do about 60 - 70 hours a week, majority of it is hard work and not paper work. i never sit still and im a highly motivated individual, always have been, i have the ability to turn bad situations into good ones and therefore i very rarely, if not never, hate a job ;D

since i was 16 years of ages i have usually had more than one job, also when i was 12 i started my first work and had a gardening round were i had a fairly large customer base and when i got a bit older i moved onto cleaning gutters as well ;D

you wouldnt have the business youve got now dave if you wasnt like you are.look at anyone thats really successful in any field and most of them are obsessed and never rest on their laurels!always planning and are very driven usually underneath they are a tad insecure.listen to man utd when they win a trophy their already thinking about next season!! ::) ::)

i do work hard but ive not got the drive or ambition to try and take over the world of window cleaning!i prefer a much simpler life with less money as it makes me happier!!

if money made me happier id be working 80 hours a week!! :P ;D ;D

best wishes to u all

Although it's been banned by the mrs , I've been thinking & I reckon Dave that the underlying problem here is George.
Why was window cleaning so attractive in the 1st place?
For me it was the deep feeling of freedom & control compared to other professions. Then it gets big cos you enjoy it & wot do we do. Many buy a computer program to organise it. Seems good at first but slowly & insideously it takes away your freedom of choice & tells you wot to do every minute & you start feeling guilty when, cos we're Hunan, we fall behind.
Davel, it's time to burn your bra. & rage against the machine !

i am suffering the same

i was cheesed off last week, bored stiff

so i treated myself and oldest daughter to a chinese and bumped into a local window cleaner

whilst chatting i decided to go away this weekend ( just back monday evening )

so we booked up that night and took ourselves away

do i feel better about work tonight, nope ( but i know why, its the school holidays and i really would prefere to be having days out and not stuck in work )
so i will work tomorrow and might have wednesday off, the whole point of me working for myself is the power to be able to do that
