hard to put in words to make much sense but ill try.

can i put a small connection (ie gardiners ez snap) at the top end of the pole hose for quick brush changes etc..

and

could i put the same connection at the bottom of the pole hose? so that there is only say a metre of pole hose at the end when disconnected. would make it easier for putting away in my pipe carrier etc...
then i would leave the rest of the pole hose connected on the main hose reel.

hope that makes some sort of sense - didnt know how to get my question across.

I don't see why not. I was thinking of doing a similar thing for quick brush changes.

A John Guest firring would be lighter and achieve the same result I think.

Would the metre be when the pole is fully extended or colapsed. If collapsed, remember whatever fitting you use will have to travel up the inside of the pole.

Why would you ever need a quick brush change? I've had my vikan brushes on my everyday poles for the last few years and never had an occasion were I thought I could do with changing them.

I have a few brushes.some harder some softer. I use a push fitting like John Guest fitting I git from Harfords They are blach and come in all sizers.These are the same as the ones on the R O just larger and cost 2- 3 quid.

i have a tap at the top of the pole with a rectus fitting at the end so i can change from sill brush to supa light when needed, i also dont have loads of hose trailing everywhere i just use my feed hose connected to a fitting 8 inches out of the end of the pole and pull that up the inside of the pole.  ill try and post a pic if i get time tomoro

just put in a standard y piece in and pull it off as and when needed

The small John Guest fitting as mentioned above is way cheaper and lighter too. I use one so that I can add an extra 15ft of pole hose to my SLX when adding the bigger sections.

top end with quick release brush
bottom end with short tail so i use feed hose to extend pole, the blue hose is flexible to protect bumping cars in tight spots and saves buying end caps for silly money which need to be removed anyway if you want to do away with a separate pole hose

thanks folr doing the pics mate - thats what im trying to do.

i mainly want to to the bottom bit but worried that the microbore and fitting will get stuck in the pole when i go to extend. i see you say feed hose?

good for you for adding pics,

but can I ask why are you doing this ?

I have the same as you a wfp and a brush, I use a y piece I can pull this off in less than 2 secs, add another brush simple.

why the need for a rectus 21 fitting and a tap and a male/female connector ?

seems like trying equip to climb a mountain when its only a speed hump

because i have a hot system the pipes still pop off at any joints that are not fixed even when the water is flowing,

i do have spare poles with different brushs but i prefer using slx for everything and just change to sill brush for doing guttters etc.

as for a short tail it goes up the first section no problem when you remove the end cap

just re-read your question, the reason i have a tap at the brush is because you cant have one anywhere else when you dont have a separate pole hose.

i prefer that to trailing hose everywhere and taps on the hip and/or triggers
