New Starter!!
« on: April 08, 2010, 08:53:49 pm »
Hello, I am a new(ish) starter and im looking for a bit of advice, this looks like a good site from what i can see.

I have had about 6 months experience of carpet cleaning, I currently use a Numatic CTT 470-2 machine and i have been using CHEMSPEC chemicals for the simple reason there is a supplier very near to my house!!

I have been lucky enough to pick up several monthly contracts with local rest homes and a nightclub, i also have been pickin up a fair amount of domestic work, all through word of mouth.

I know my machine is not top of the range at all!! But have been making a good job of cleaning due to the amount of time i have spent on the carpets, but with the numatic it is taking me too long and i am not earning as well as i could be.

I have been looking into getting a top of the range "more powerfull" machine for a couple of months now, I am pretty keen on the ASHBYS NINJA 400 psi....

WHAT DO PEOPLE RECOMMEND FOR ME? PORCHEM ASHBY OR SOMETHING ELSE???

i would really appreciate any advice anyone could give me ie -

is what i plan to do too much too soon?

should i start with a cheaper machine and work my way up?

should i look out for a used machine on ebay rather than spend what is alot of money on a brand new one?

am i using the best chemicals??[/b]

Thanks alot , Daniel

PLEASE NOTE I HAVE MODIFIED THIS POST AS SOME DONUTS SEEM TO THINK I WAS TRYING TO ADVERTISE....

If I were going new I would go for Clean smarts new Air Flex. Spec looks great and feedback I have read on here suggests its the new 'top portable'

My second paragraph does give you advice.

Your post does look like an advert, I would change it to avoid everyone going on about it, we dont need the full spec Ashby Ninjas fine.

the ninja is an excellent machine, if it was sold by anyone but Ashbys it would be a perfect choice. it is a well built reliable machine

if I was looking for a portable i would look at the Perfect Heat from Amtech

It's all changed for you big daddy...

trust me im not working for any carpet cleaning machine manufacturer... i am working for myself on my F*CKIN hands an knees with a numatic, an i want a better machine!!!! 8)

the reason i gave the spec is because they can custom build the machines, id like to know if i would be choosing the right options or not....i did originally ask them to email me a quote for the machine plus the v2 steam mate as i have seen it on youtube an it looks good. but for one of those bad boys is well out of my budget!!

harbut, donuts, all the same to me  ;D  my serious advice is: if that price is/was correct buy it because its a good deal.

P.S take a chill pill, because it was an advert before you changed it, no need to lose your rag, just say sorry and that'l be the end of it.

A lot of people saying Air Flex Turbo have they had one maybe maybe NOT.
I would alway go for a machine with a built in tank heater minimum.
Well before I got the TM I used the Ninja for about Three years with no problem what so ever.
If you can afford it 400psi with built in steam mate.  Just my opinion

I have not long started myself.  I brought the Airflex Turbo and seriously its the best portable going.  You can even do entry level hard surface cleaning with its 600psi pump.  Although I would say that the magma in-line heater isn't the best heater I've used but does work.
