Hi guys,

I went for the Advantage and have found it significantly better than the Extracta Exel .

As for the in line heater these can be used on any machine providing the hose is of sufficent quality.Alltec supply 3000psi.

One of the reasons for my decision was location and the service offered on repairs.

Another was the ability to reduce the weight by 40% for those difficult to get to jobs.

As for the Eclipse I decided against because of its weight and the fact I prefer an in tank heater. In my view all those wires look unprofessional.

I have not tried the Recoil but would like to.

Access problems persuaded me against a truckmount at this stage so this would also rule out using portable as a truckmount.

Ashbys have not always had the best service record on this forum  , but it is nice to see some positives coming through.

Price was also a consideration and here I thought the Advantage also scored.

This is a good thread , keep the constructive comments coming.

Cheers,

Doug

Mark

Why are you buying a recoil. I thought you bought your CFR 500 at Milton Keynes at the same time   as I bought my pro400 only 3 months or so ago. Have you not been happy with it and if not can you please tell us why.

Dave,

I can't see why you are digging at Gary.

It seems a well thought out personal opinon.

Because of the electrical consumption the Advantage sacrifices an extra vacuum for in machine heat , whereas the Eclipse sacrifices the in tank heat for an extra vacuum.

The Ninja is similar to the Advantage but a better pump amd is inbetween price wise.

Surely a personal choice.

The Eclipse is also considerably more expensive.

You pays your money yo makes your choice.

Cheers,

Doug

If you apply logic to joe`s origional question, what does he want to do with it?, for the best machine but with the wrong solutions and a poor opperator spells disaster.

i am not having a dig at any one, just pionting out a few errors in thought, i Have an alltec advantage a very good machine, but you say it has 2 power leads, it only has one! the ninja is not a british machine, it is american, it is also sold world wide under different names, and i personally dont belive it to be any where near as good as the eclipse/reciol,in performance and no,where near as good on after sales service.just look at the various threads regarding ashbys after sales.

But i stress these are just my thoughts ;D

P.S has R.K changed his screen name ::)

Hi Guys,

My Advantage has two leads so I can heat and clean.

I much prefer this option.

My advantage had two leads.

The recoil is more powerful than the Ninja - 1, more flow from the pump, 2 - extra vacuum, 3- vacuums in parallel which does make a difference.

Regarding price girls lets be honest.  A machine will last for say 3 years and could earn you £150k plus so lets not take issue if the machine is £2k or £4k its how much more efficient it makes your job.

Mark a good and valid piont, and it really does come down to what your more comfortable with, personally i love my alltec machine, and the service i get from them, and mine has one lead, i prefer to wait for the water to get to temp, then i can give a even clean, but i will be getting a recoil, the idea of not having to take the machine out of the van(most times) appeals to me, the pump size/flow rate, and the vac power combined with the booster box mean that i coud run 200 ft o hose if needed.

Once again i am not having a pop at any one, calm down girls for gods sake

i believe  the top of the range ninja is the best and most advanced portable machine u can get ,also these machines are put together here by guys who hav been building them for over 10 years not just inporting them here and selling them on for vast markups like some   firms who are yet to prove their cust back up  .
cheers gary

You said "i believe  the top of the range ninja is the best and most advanced portable machine u can get "

My opinion-Its far from hi-tec, please explain what you consider to be state of the art about the Ninja?

You said "not just inporting them here and selling them on for vast markups like some"

My opinion-Do you actually know the costs incured by the companies importing the Eclipse and Recoil? The mark up is actually very little.

You said "firms who are yet to prove their cust back up"

My opinion- Come on!! I think virtually everyone on here can vouch for Solutions second to none customer service.

hi do u know their markup then ? i doubt it any good bizz person wouldnt tell u there mark up , i personally think the build q of top range ninjas is very good ,tell me what the "state of the art" eclpise  and recoil has what the ashbys top machine dont hav ? as regards to state of art, also how do u come to recon that every one on here says their service is the best ?  i for one hav not used them so cannot comment they (ecplise firm) is very young firm and sales are prob low compared to a older firm like ashbys so ecplise firm can prob giv better serivice as they are not as busy just my thoughts   cheers gary

Ask Steve Gunn who provides the better customer service, Ashbys or Solutions? As he has owned both machines and
if my memory serves me correctly, Ashbys customer service was regulary the butt of a number of jokes here on the forum ;D

I wouldnt be at all surprised If Solutions uk  out sells Ashbys you should give them a try 8)

I have no qualms in recommending the Ninja (forget the dry solvent waist of money) have seen local competition use the word state of art machine brain washed newbie’s but a selling point to the customer.

Problems you have rights under the sale of goods act we are talking new or under warranty, if you stand the three-card trick from them more fool you! How ever nice they may or not seam!

One begs the question eclipse/recoil can one-source components elsewhere in the UK?

Suggest you look at your competition not the half price ones.

Haven't we done this topic before?

Considering the Prochem Steempro range probably outsells both by 20 times I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet.

I do hope a lot of you guys are around in 10 years time so we can do a poll and see how many of you have hernias!

As I've said before, portables should be portable and not enough people take account of how much some of these machines weigh!

Mike
