Hi Joe
i use the Advantage machine and find it to be excellent, but remember that any of the machines out there perform great , as long as the operator knows the proper steps in how to clean carpets, it's not just about your eqiupment.

but that said, and im sure you are qualified, then i found the alltec advantage to be an excellent choice,  also their back up service is good as well in case of any unforseen problems

I have had an Alltec Pro Plus for four and a half years and it has been great. If you have an emergency breakdown Chris will repair it while you wait. It takes me an hour to get there so I can be back to work within three hours!!

Hi,

With regrads to the eclipse heaters you can get external heaters that will give you very high heat more than the ninja, the reason is that the eclipse has to use an external heater is that is packed with three vac motors and you can have up to 1,000 psi pump. you lose some vac power with the 1,000 psi but the 500 is great.

you can not compare the two machines. the differ in spec and price. the eclipse can be used from your van as it will work upto 150ft away from the machine. this is great if you are only doing a lounge say.

If you are local to essex you can have a look at my eclipse any time.

plus one very important thing you should consider when buying a machine is back up. you will not find better that Solution.

Joe,

The Alltec Advantage is a good allround machine and also runs off two leads.

Any machine can be boosted by using a seperate in line heater but it is a pain with all the leads.

Also Alltec are a good service company and their machines are British so parts are regularly available.

A lot depends on where you are located , Alltec is near J10, M11  Solutions are in Cornwall and Ninjas are sold by ashbys in Kent.

Other options are the Prochem range which are serviced by a string of distributors.

Cheers,

Doug

I repair most machines in the Midlands as well as clean. I keep a lot of Alltec spares and motors most of the time unless there has been a run. If I am at home then I'm open.

Hi Guys

First I respect all your views

With respect to spare parts, the Eclipse has a tray that just pulls out with all the pumps and motors on it and this can be sent to Solutions.

Solutoions keep spare machine so that if one does go down they can over night you a spare tray and pick your up at the same time so you lose less down time. Distance is no problem in this day and age and the eclipse has been built with this in mind.

I for one dont want to get involved in repairing my machine. leave that to the pros.

most times its hard to knoe if you are getting good customer service from your machine provider as you only deal with the one that you got the machine from. most give ok service I have used all four and Solution has been the best in my opion.

I believe that the eclipse in one of two portables that are what i would call new generation machines.

Hi All

I Have an Anvantage and a Eclipse, and used to have a Ninja and they are all very good machines.

At the moment I am run of my feet  ::) getting landlords house's ready for the students who arrive back in Cardiff in a few weeks. I am using the Eclipse to do this and leaving it on the back of the van like a t/m , some times I run 200ft of hose from my Eclipse and this is not a problem for it!

One thing I do not Like about the Eclipse is emptying it! to me it is not a very good design. I have told Nick about this and tells me he will work on changing in, but for know it looks like I will have to get the auto dump for it.

My Eclipse had a problem with it about a week ago  :o I rung Solutions at 3.10pm and told them of my problem. as they know how busy I
am at the moment the next day at 8:30am the was a new Eclipse at my door which they had sent at there cost for a special early delivery  ;D  ;D

Regards

i believe  the top of the range ninja is the best and most advanced portable machine u can get ,also these machines are put together here by guys who hav been building them for over 10 years not just inporting them here and selling them on for vast markups like some   firms who are yet to prove their cust back up  .

Its funny how some of you think your portable is the best until you try something different.

I have owned a Ninja, Advantage and Pro 500.

The advantage is better than the Ninja as its vacuums are in parallel which means quicker dry times.  The heater (element) gets to 90 rather than 70 with the Ninja.  It has bigger tanks and looks better and is easier to use as the switchs are on the top and the leads are longer.  The Ninjas pros are its lighter and more robust being plastic and theres more options.  The advantages only negitive is that its pump is too small, only 135psi.

If I where you I'd only look at an eclispe or recoil as your main machine. Ive seen both and have the recoil on order.

BTW I dont believe you can go over 50-75ft with the above portables and still maintain a decent dry time unless a very dry day.  And thats from experience.   I also dont think the recoil or eclispe can run 150ft and still maintain peak performance.  Try before you buy.

i hav used all the top spec portables over a 10 year period  and do know bit allgee  or what ever u are called, i hav allways run  my portables out of my van  and the setup i hav just  installed  has no prob whats so ever cleaning at 100ft plus  and still getting great results in drying and cleaning  with the inbuilt heaters giving burst of steam ,     now lets be serious this ninja cost way under £3000      its spec is this

2x3stg heavy duty vacs (230 water lift )
400psi induction pump with pressure control and flow control
3 kw pre heater adjustable with safty cut off
3 kw  steam mate heater adjustable upto 110 c
auto fill
auto drain with 25ft hose
50 ft power leads
now whats the diff between this and a eclipse , it has one more 2 stag vac yes it is slighty more powerfull but it hardley shows  it has 100 more psi on pump  to me this dont make lot diff because i never clean over 300psi
nor do most ,  i hav looked at all the top range setups and cannot c why u are raving about this eclpise  and yes i hav seen one,  all has got is a third vac but be cause of this u cant hav any heaters there is nothing advanced about this machine whats so ever and i challenge any one who is running a eclipse from thier van to prove me wrong
p.s for the person  who thinks he is clever ,yes i know ninja is imported here but ashbys custom build here they basc just get the outer skin and rebuild them
