Avoid paying for those 08 number charges
« on: April 02, 2010, 01:06:52 pm »
Thought I would share this with you all.  Bookmark this page.  Really good.  If you are like me and hate calling those expensive 08 numbers, that cost the earth when calling from you mobile, or charging you national rate charges or more, use this site.  It hunts down the proper landline number behind the rip off number.

And before someone says this is not related to window cleaning, yes it is.  As this is a great tool for when you need to contact your banks, or suppliers, or even those businesses your have commercial jobs for.

Enjoy

Yes I've used that a few times in recent years to reduce some call charges.  A bit hypocritical really as I use an 0845 number for my own business.  However, these days I supply people with all three numbers (the 0845, the geographical, and the mobile).
Considering that it can cost 10p a minute (perhaps more) to phone some of these companies on their 0870 numbers, it can easily save a couple of quid on the lengthier calls.
Thanks for posting.

Yes you right paul, some numbers are better to use when calling from a landline.

However the 08 numbers do not count towards your free allowance of mins from you mobile and costs will be applied straight you your bill in addition to your line rental.

Hope all helps.

Nice one.
The number on the site maps to a place called Coatbridge in North Lanarkshire.  Makes me wonder who has set this up and why as it probably costs them the line rental.  Probably got a few other irons in the fire that make it worthwhile.

Thats pretty neat! :)

I just tried entering my ISP helpline number which is an 0844, & it gave me an 0800 instead, & if I ever need to contact them via mobile, then the other website comes in handy.

Many thanks :)
