my wfp swap over
« on: April 01, 2010, 03:30:47 pm »
after many years of a ladder only, i decided to add wfp to my kit - find some jobs better trad and some wfp.

went on here for tips and info.

wfp letter - not a single customer was bothered, they did read it and understood the workings tho.

first cleans - just cleaned each window a time - frames then glass, not a single prob from any jobs so far.

only using xline trolley at mo with new alloy hydra poles.

finding that it isnt any quicker - the cleaning bit is a little quicker but with having to set up the pole and mess around with hose etc it takes longer.

you will get quicker m8,i have the xline,im gonna have it in the van full time now and have a backpack for backs of houses.
Good choice with the hydra alloy,im using the same, love it 25ft one find it great.
The xtel you get with the xline is far too heavy.

As the other guys have said, you will get quicker.  After the initial cleans, the windows will just need a once over scrub and a quick rinse.

And when you do conservatories (the bigger and taller the better), leaded windows, Georgian windows, high windows - in fact just about everything; the speed is unreal once you get into it.

I have a load of houses which needed both doubles and a single pointer for the high ground floor windows and the WFP just rips into these and makes them nice to do.

i must say that i will never go back to ladders, i have a 650lt tank in my van and two trollies, i use the trollies mostly and find it much quicker than ladder work.  keep at it mate you will find it better as you get the hang of it, you will find a system that siuts you with it and you will be steaming through.
