New brush heads!!!
« on: March 28, 2010, 10:35:19 pm »
I got my new pole last week with the 'black' superlite brush on it, anyway i tried out the new pole on my own house and i noticed that it left lots of spots, i cleaned them agian the other day and it is still leaving spots so i went over it with my other pole that has the 'white' superlite brush on it and they came up perfect.

My TDS is 000 in the tank but 002 at the brush head on both brushes. I dont clean my windows anywhere near as much as i should so is this just a case of not spending enough time and treating it as a first clean or is there something wrong with my 'black' brush?

As i said the brush head was brand new so are you supposed to do something to them before use, like rinse them out?

if you got the one i think you have, it needs to be cleaned between each use as it holds the dirt,  thats what the girl at gardiners told me any way, as i get the dual trim white one

daz the black one is a duel trim as well mate, she told me it was a bit stiffer and therefore better on 1st cleans. It doesnt seem that way unless it was a error on my part, i dont think it was though as i cleaned exactly the same way as i always do and this was the case when i used the white one which brought the windows up perfect

try soaking it in a bucket of pure water over night,  that might help

i might of miss understood, as i think they changed the design and colours  when they bring out a new brush,  is it flocked

i think it means the ends are split,  it is meant to hold more dirt

I stopped using mine after the same problems. It holds the dirt and you only need to stroke the glass on a rinse and it will leave a trail. Being black you can't see the dirt either.
If you rinse with the brush well off the glass you should be ok.

i understand that the black bristles are flocked and this collects more dirt.

so i think that maybe the problem - personally i like/use unflocked brush heads

flocked brushes have split end so have fluffy feel.

alot of vikan early brushes were flocked as they are designed to clean vehicles, so soft brush won't scratch paint work.

unfortunately flocked traps dirt particles, you need to lift and rinse well to avoid spotting.

I now use monofilament brushes (un-flocked) these do not trap dirt particles (or nowhere as bad)

I don't really like double trim brushes, not saying they dont work but i'm a belt and braces guy.

I like to see a good rinse on the glass.

thinking of getting supalite brush soon, will be single flock monofilament (white bristles)

i currently use vikan sill brush i love this but gonna try zensorfex fish pole idea soon, bit worried sill brush gonna be too heavy :-\

well done mate for trying new brush on your own windows, could of upset a few custy's there :-[

re: spotting

i tend to put two TINY drops of gg3 in a barrel of water and pour into backpack.

just gives me that extra bit of confidence in finish.

I use to see odd spot here and there :(

try not to look too much now :D
