Daft old biddy - a clanger by Gold!
« on: March 26, 2010, 05:56:22 pm »
Classic! As regular readers of my drivel will know I am a jw of the live and let live variety. Mrs Gold is a bit more "zealous".   ;D Anyhoo she's out and in the ministry (doorknocking) and she calls on this old biddy and her neighbour.

So she calls on this old girl in a "how's yer belly for spots, have a cuppa sort of way" and said old girl wants a window cleaner and Mrs. Gold offers my services.

Now as jw's you know - someone who is being called on regularly (magazine route) gets special treatment when it comes to offering hubby's services and so against all my better judgement she and her neighbour are allowed to call me out as and when it suits.

So for the princely sum of £20 I go out and clean these two adjoining ex- council terraces (with alley way through).

A week later Mrs Gold is spreading the word and her "call" says that I've missed out her downstairs windows and they're all smeary. Mrs Gold tells me the marks are definitely on the outside.

So there's me - all apology and pride, rushing round to put it right. I go round and it's all on the inside which due to the circumstances I squeegie off and prove the point.

"Ooh! I'm sorry, let me make it up to you - have a coffee and a cherry bakewell!"

Grrrrrrrr! I don't mind the old biddy getting it wrong but you'd think Mrs Gold could tell the difference between inside and outside muck wouldn't you?  ;D

It's a game of three halves!

Mrs Gold needs a shepharding call from the FEDs........she has fallen by the wayside......she needs to study the "how to check for marks on inside windows" book again.....or a commitee could be formed. ;D

Welcome back Shiner!

Hello again Malc.
As you know I've had an incarnation or two since The Shiner (not the buddhist type  :)  ) and have been keeping up to speed with what goes on even though I've not posted as much.
I need to devote some time to increasing my income in the following weeks/months so might not post too much.  I've resolved to try to keep my posts to the window cleaning stuff more and not allow myself to get drawn in on other subjects.
Mind you, I do think that not being able to tell the outside of a window from the inside is worthy of a judicial committee hearing   ;D

I don't generally mix the two - but don't hide the fact that I'm a jw and so I will answer any Q's that come up.

Judicial Committee for blindness!? You must have come from a tough congo.  ;D Actually a nearby congo to us had a P.O. - first name Norman and he was so keen to get stuck in they nicknamed him Stormin' Norman!

Simon, I can't! Assuming you mean Mrs. Gold and not the old biddy - she does my taxes, feeds me and looks after my every need  :o - besides I'd lose the house and more importantly have nowhere to produce water and fill my van.  ;D
