Fitting a heater?
« on: March 24, 2010, 09:16:40 pm »
Does anyone know a place to get a heater fitted to a Prochem Cheyenne? (Wiltshire area but don't mind travelling).  Or know of any inline heater for under £300?

For about £30 you can buy an adjustable immersion heater, but you will need to drill the perfect hole into the side of the tank for it to fit.
I did it to a scorpian and works great, but i don't know much about your machine.

I think I could manage that with not too much trouble. Could you give me any more info on likely places to buy the one you have? The machine it's for is soon to be a back-up machine but I want it to have a heater when I need it.

Plumb Centre.
The biggest problem was finding a locking nut because the immersion heater is designed to screw into the copper tank in homes, although if you drill a precise hole the element will self cut into the plastic of the machine. Don't forget the sealent and test for leaks before trying the electric test.

That's great, I'll look into that. No, I won't forget the sealant! Thanks for the idea!

3 Kw Haden kettle element, This used to be fitted to Woodbridge

That's exactly what one of my alltec machines has fitted-a kettle element in the bottom of the tank and a thermostat like the one shown. Works fine.
