Two very good points from both of you, but if you see what I'm trying to say, the reason prices stay low, is because some guys price on method and not buy what the job is really worth.

To make my point, if either of you fancy a holiday over here in sunny Germany, give me a call and you can clean all my custies for a month at those prices with your WFP kit. I'll make enough to sod off on my hols at the same time  ;D

Dont you effectively price yourself out of a healthy proportion of the market with a combination. One or the other perhaps, but both combined?

No. If you confidently quote a high price, the customer will not argue, they will just accept it.  People are prepared to pay for good quality clean, but only if you seem confident and look like you know what you're doing.

If you are even the slightest bit hesitant, they will start to try and talk you down.  You have to not give them the option.

I can't beleive some are saying it's 20 mins work tops!

Yeah, I could wip round WFP in 20 mins but I wouldn't be doing a very good job.

I would charge £55 every 8 weeks and take my time doing it properly.

This thing about quoting by method.
On jobs that have plain glass with larger panes, I tend to quote the same regardless of method.  However, with Georgian or leads, the time differential increases greatly - especially on a hot day.  IMO a Georgian or leaded job can take twice as long - perhaps more - than WFP.  With plain glass, the differential is usually less - though it does depend what type of job it is.  When I first switched to WFP, some jobs I had with those sort of windows went from being a fairly OK price or maybe even a not very good price to a decently priced job.  A lot depends on property layout though.  I reckon (with WFP) a 40 minute plod on the job pictured but if I pushed myself, sure I could do it in 20 minutes.  I would feel happier taking 40 minutes though.  With trad, I don't reckon I would do it in under an hour - especially as I'm out of practice now.

Good.  Sounds like I was thereabouts with my £35 - £40 then.  Does that include the veluxe window Marcus?
