Hi all,
Do any of you use any specialist upvc detergents?
I wondered if there is anything you use to speed up 1st cleans when doing trad work?

hi ian i just use hot soapy water with green fairy and the non-scratch scourer/sponge thingys if the frames are bad.i do use cif cream cleaner for stubborn marks but be careful with it as it can scratch the upvc if you use too much!!
make sure you price well if your doing all this on a first time clean!or else itll take you ages with very little reward!i know from past experience!! :

i too use cif , a squirt of it on a sopping wet bit of old bath towel and then scrub . i usually tell my customers it takes 3 seperate visits to get the frames looking good. i think after each clean a bit of bleach from the cif is left on the frame and on next visit the frame cleans further
whens the start ian?

Hi Dazmond & Jonnyald,
Many thanks, I will get hold of some cif & non scratch scourers & go lightly lol.
I saw some spray on cleaner for upvc earlier, but I guess price wise it probably is not worth it, & probably still requires the same amount of scrubbing.
I get my motor back tomorrow from the garage, it is having a new clutch & rear shocks, & is going to cost a lot.
, but atleast I need not worry about them going again anytime soon, & I am ready to go door knocking.
Thanks again.
Ian.

Window and door fitters use cellulose thinners, I use it as well. It is not expensive and it is great for cleaning of the years of grime. If you do use it, don't leave leave it visible in your vehicle, some people love sniffing it
