Had a lass text me sunday night saying

"im not needing my windows washed this month. i'll let you know when i need them washed again. thanks  91 ***********"

Anyway, if she was to text back a few months down the line, how would you reply

a. do them as usual
b. do them but add a few quid on
c. "sorry luv, im too busy"

I know how i would answer, but how would you?

The fact people use text message to cancel annoys me, whats wrong with a good old fashioned phone call  ;D

Just take them back as if you would do a new customer.  Its always cash in the till.  As tempting as it is, dont cut your nose off to spite your face by going with the last option.  I would however may try and tie her into a min term contract though

If you were to cancel your sky package, and then call them back to re-subscribe, they would still snap your hand off, again tying you to a new contract

i would phone her up ryan and politely try and get her on a 2 monthly basis.if not then drop her.

i usually find that custys who do this accept the 2 monthly option 9 times out of 10.

tell her you dont do a dial-a -clean service!(i dont anyway!!)

price a few quid higher for the 2 monthly option if you think its underpriced.

keep em sweet!! ;) ;)

i had a lady come out today and say.

I didn't get a text to say you were coming

i said

thats strange they all went out.

she said

can you leave them this time

I said

not really, we allocate a space for each customer and let you know as agreed.

she said

I don't want them cleaned

I said

Well as our terms and conditions states if we are turned away then you will still be charged

She said

I never signed any terms and conditions. You can't make me have my windows cleaned.

I said

By employing our services you accept our terms and conditions.

she got in a huff and slammed the door ;D

I then checked our text system when i got home....and guess what....the text was delivered to her handset 2 minutes after i sent it ::) i then phoned her mobile to let her politely know that i can csee the text was delivered and that she will be charged accordingly for the visit

as of yet i have had nothing back ??? :P

oh...and guess what? ....she has been dropped! 8)

i think thats way over the top steve in my book!i would of just moved on to the next house if there all in a row.if she had said "not today" on a second visit i would say" do you want to go on 2 monthly?"if not then id drop her.

most custys ive found will accept a 2monthly clean 9 times out of 10 and youve still got the customer.

id be more worried about your attitude to your custys.you could lose a lot more if you were window cleaning in the north west!! :P

If a customer says they will ring me when they want them cleaning i just tell them that thats fine but the charge for this service is double the monthly price and it will be carried out when i have the time around my regular customers.

yep agree with you dazmond

Now window cleaners are finding out just how the customers feel when its the cleaner that dumps them,

thats why you should give them a choice of cleans 4/8/12 weekly

If they dont want thoses options offer them the dial-a-clean they will know when you will be working in the area and should call you beforehand so you can fit them into your working day

Its not the best way to cancel but at least she contacted you instead of waiting until you turned up.
I would probably take her back on at at a little higher price if i had other work there. If it became regular i would likely become 'too busy' the next time she phones.

It has been happening for years nothing new, I would rather be like Steve and not get messed about by customers than fan about and let mey customers run my business.

spot on Daz, communication is key, were offering a service, not demanding they take it. A northern girl would of put him in his place ;D
