rotary brush dry cleaning

Hi
Can you use your rotary brush to work in the micro sponges for dry cleaning. i have the contra rotating brushes but wonder if the weight of the rotary would do a better job.
Cheers

Hi Alastair,

From my experience [I have tried both methods] the contra rotating brushes

are far better.

A Rotary machine tends to throw the compound outwards.

You can get a special brush to fit rotary machines but even this is not as effective.

You are correct in saying weight does play a part, and Expro is correct in saying counter rotating brushes will do the job better then a rotary.

However, there are CRB machines which are heavier then others and therefore do a better job.

The heavy ones are Envirodri, Host, Flexi 5 and TM4 (maybe an other 1 or 2 )

the lighter one is the Sebo Duo. Owners like it, but the heavier ones do a better job, and from what I can gather are also easier to clean the the Duo at the end of the job/day.

You can use a low/standard speed rotary for dry compound cleaning, but as others have said, there is a bit of "fling" to contend with.

Don't use a brush. The preferred medium is a 3M Carpet Skimming Pad. Its probably less than 5mm thick and is a bit floppy, but it works OK. It's also great at agitating pre-spray. Except for blacktop, it will probably outperform a brush. Logic will tell you otherwise, but  hey, trust me, I'm a carpet cleaner 8)

Safe and happy cleaning :)

Thanks for advice
I will try the rotary pad on more heavy soiled traffic lanes and see how i get on.
Another string to bow!
Many thanks
