Hi
I looked at the website earlier, it did not give me a joining fee and did nothing to make me want to contact them to find out how much.

the joning fee is £102 proving you are a sole trader, goes up with no of employee to £246. if you employ 101 or more

i looked at joining, but  i couldnt see any benefits except a sign on your web site etc, but i think it depends on which way you want to take your business

i use to be a member, a couple of years back it was £50 then.

the straw that broke the camels back was when they told me i had to attend a ladder safety course to stay a member.

I had already covered this in a bwca course.

Maybe i'm wrong but i just found it a bit much; and membership was going up, fwc was buying premises.

I felt they were focusing more on the big boys and not little fish like me.

Hi Lee

I think your bwca course would cover you for membership, the compulsary ladder course was unworkable and now with the advent of wfp , most wcs now dont use ladders

I have said this before

You will only join the FWC if you want to
You will see the benifits of what you get out of the membership

The FWC as allways helped the small guys but they have mostly ended up the big boyes

Everybody as the right to have a opinion

like i said before, i am not a member, as when i looked at it i didnt see any benefits to going, as i aas only doing domestic and wanted to stay that way,  but over the last few months have realised that i want to take my business in a different direction from where it is,  if joining this gets you work, noticed  etc, then it might be worth, as it seems the big boys are all members, and they seem to have a lot of work, so might look at joining in a few weeks, as want to look at the BWCA as well
