Unusual stain remover
« on: March 20, 2010, 06:28:52 pm »
Call today from someone moving into a new flat. She said there was a black area in the corner of a room that she tried to remove with milk  :o ???

Why milk I asked.
Someone told her it would get the stain out. ;D
Well it got the stain out apparently.

What about the smell you'll be left with when the milk goes off I asked.

"Didn't think about it at the time and thats why I ringing you now, it stinks"  ::)

Havn't seen it yet but what will be best to treat it with, enzyme digester & plenty of deodoriser & sanistiser?

Thanks
Paul

You might have to go deeper, if it's a flat are they concrete floors underneath, and i bet the underlay is well and truly penetrated, but yes plenty of enzyme digester and sanitiser will hopefully turn her diy job back round!!!!!

Hi

You can also use milk on blood, it's a digestive enzyme.

What would you recommend Martin? Red top or full fat?

Hi

For blood drops spray on diluted persil liquid (1/2 -1 cap full in a 500ml spray bottle)

Extract with either cold water or a terry towel (using a towel won't contaminate your machine)

Or milk, leave and then extract

Martin, what do you estimate the dwel time is on using milk or persil (I presume you're talking biological).
I have heard of using milk before and logically it makes sense due to the enzymes.

Hi

sorry, yes, always use Bio-logical as it has the enzymes. To neutralize blood with a bio-cide they recommend 15 minutes, I have used the persil (bio) and terry towel and dwell for 5 mins, I would probably do the same with milk, never used the milk method personally.

I have also used persil liquid (BIO) as a pre-spray (cue the shock and horror  :o ) and do get good results with it.

Hi guys

Far simpler to use an enzyme based product, biological wahing powder does of course contain them.

Trouble with the miulk method is that you now need another enzymeto get rid of it 1

This is something I am going to cover at the CCDO.

Cheers

Doug

Oh use only liquid never powder, powder will leave a residue (those bits that don't dissolve)  ;)
