March generally is a good month...but not this year.
The strange thing is...I increased my advertising budget for 2010 and the bookings are less ?

you must have at least 50 to 60 customers in your database that used you around this time last year, or even the year before. give em a ring mate. or if your not confident mail shot them with a yearly reminder.

My first 3 months this year have been the worst on record by a country mile. Talking to others i'm not alone. It's easy for me to judge how things are in general just by the amount of calls we get regardless of conversion rate. I would say just basic enquiries in my area are down 300%.

I suppose it's quite easy to see how things are generally by the amount of people who are on here at 1.00pm on a Friday!  I've been steady for the past few weeks but I'm finding most people are having one or two carpets done and that's about it.  Protector is extremely slow at the moment.  This morning I did two small rooms and some stain treatments for a guy and then another job of just a stain treatment.  Should I put it all on Kauto Star or Denman this afternoon?  Decisions decisions.

Jan,Feb, and first 2 weeks of March,barely scraped through  picked up this week,got work on everyday next week 3 jobs on Monday alone.
Going to try and Oxibrite a big oil stain on Monday,have tried just about every product i know of to shift a big massage oil stain,in a sports injury treatment room.
So on the up.
Think i may have killed the engine in my Roc,been giving it some beans now the roads are dry,had it up on 3 wheels on Wed  Had the roll cage out on Tue,and re bolted it all back in,my god it`s like a roller skate now,it`s sucking in air through the breather,so think i have slipped a few teeth on the cam belt.

Mark, I cleaned a day room in a private clinic today, loads of massage oil spots all over the place, I prepped with a mixture of HD at 25 to one and M Power at 100 to one, and yes, I do know you're not supposed to mix the two in one spray, but it did work on about 90% of the spots, the other 10% I treated with Perky spotter- all gone. I made sure that I used all the pre-spray on that job, as I have been advised that the M Power will eventually devour the HD. Mike

Cool i am on the right track then,i have cleaned these carpets every 3 months for the last 3 years,i have tried everything to get it out,so have told her this is a last resort type thing,she has also gone and spilt Ribena on her white Berber,and gone at it with Vanish power foam,told her that`s prob set,i tell her every time i clean ,"never put anything on it"   :

mix 1 cap of persil (liquid) in a 500ml trigger spray bottle, mist, leave for 1-2 mins and rub out with a terry towel.

Noting will shift it Martin,it`s been cleaned umpteen times,there is still a slight yellow patch,i have tried browning prescription on it,will no change,it`s a 4 yr old stain from a bottle of carrier oil that was treated non professionally a long time ago.

Not wanting to highjack the thread but, Mark, is it possible that these oil stains are wicking from the sub floor? Had one a while ago and only way to stop it was to put a barrier between the sub floor and carpet.

On the original subject of slow business. I have to say domestic is very quite. More work than normal from Letting Agents and have been going after more commercial stuff also. A few good maintenance contracts brought in.
