FIAT SCUDO MAX PAYLOAD 2185kgs
« on: March 18, 2010, 04:42:49 pm »
Hi just checked my handbook, and it says 2185kgs max payload. so with a 650ltr tank i would have loads more room for extra weight right, or am i wrong?

Think you've misread. I think the van weighs that when standing empty.

ok heres the manual info

kerb weight (inc fuel, wheel, tools, accessories - 1334 divided x 1533 ? not sure what that means?

max addmited loads
front axle - 1230 kgs
rear axle - 1300
total - 2185kgs (which i presumed was max payload?)

can anyone explain where im going wrong? i would have thought max payload would be about 1000 kgs?

yep, sounds right.  i always think back to twin wheel tranny190 would take just under 2ton load and  single wheel tranny100 , 1 ton

as a rough guess a scudo is about 1 tonne empty +1 tonne load = 2000 total

That set of Scudo figures is the total gross permissible weight including the van divided between front and back axles.
It's a game of three halves!

Think you are supposed to take of total permissible weight from kerb weight to give payload.

If you take van to a weighbridge the will check the load on each of the axles as well as total weight to make sure load is distributed so as not to overload one of the axles.

ladders and roof rack does not count towards payload as it is outside the van. ;)

Old Scudos were 800 or 900 kg payload. Newer versions up to 1200kg but check payload (not gross vehicle weight)
