« on: March 16, 2010, 05:19:18 pm »

Did a job today   just moving into a new house, bit of a rush job so didnt survey, got as many details as I could .
So whilst talking on the phone , the lady of the house "ever such a nice lady"  told me it was only half the stairs to clean ??? :o  ,  ?? only carpet from halfway up. any way got there today and sure enough  large downstairs all wood floor and  wood stairs only half way up , rest carpeted  onto landing, never seen it before but according to the lady "its the latest in thing in interior design"

Any body heard of this .

its so you don't wake people up on your way to bed, wood stairs to start off cos there further away and still retaining the wooden floor look then as you get closer to the bedrooms you have carpets for quieter foot steps. totally makes sense don't ya think?

personally i like the, one side of the stairs carpetted and the other side not, that way you have a choice when climbing ones stairs, if you have your shoes on you would choose the wood floor option to escalate and de escalate, but if you only had socks or bare feet you would obviously choose the carpetted option. then if you were wearing slippers you could ascend and descend in the mddle but obviously you would have to choose the middle on your return to avoid uneven wear to the said slipper.

I only do half the stairs anyway  ;D so I would have done a quarter but charged the full amount ;)

Haven't you heard its all the rage Geoff its called minimalism.

Ive opted for one stair carpeted then one wooden then one carpeted and so on, I've also got no curtains in half the house at the

moment................oh and 2 bald tyres on the van...............oh I remember now, its called having no money.  ;D
