The rectus 21 fittings have been playing me up all day on all 3 of my poles and im fed up with them now.

What other options are their ?

Heres a picture of how i use them at the moment. Each pole has a rectus 21 fitting on the end that connects up to the tap. then the tap connects to the hose pipe on the reel by a brass male tail and then a jubilee clip tightening the hose to the tail. I did have this fitted to my belt with a holster, but my leg was getting soaked from ill fitting rectus 21 fittings.

It needs to have something easily detatchable at the end of each pole as i use at least two poles per house, sometimes 3 different ones.

I definatley want some kind of tap on there, but not a push fit one as i found they leak too.

Personally, I have my tap tied to the pole end with cable ties. This avoids damage to the rectus fitting and tap that appears to have happened to yours.

We use rectus 25 ka they are bigger and more substantial. Also more expensive.

The connectors have been leaking since new and were bought from a wfp supplier.

Yes they are damaged now, but they always leaked on me.

Anyone use hoselock connectors ?

Where do you get the rectus 25 fittings from ?  Are they a better fit or just bigger to leak more ?

We dont put taps on them just stop ends. They do not leak at all. No popoffs either. You can get them from Brodex (they call them Brodex high pressure fittings) But I get mine from Parkland engineering.

We used to use hozelock but they dont last and the prices keep going up. Have had the Rectus 25 KA fittings on 3 months, not replaced any, yet.

You can get Rectus 25KA plugs and connectors with a 1/2 inch BSP thread fitting. You can easily get a tap to fit that.

I've just started using rectus 19 fittings (Off ebay). A bit bigger that the rectus 21 connectors, but not much,.. & so far they're working much better.

I just use hoselok water stop, never really had a problem with them. If one breaks just stick another one on. Only a few quick to keep a few spares on board. ;)

you cant wash your hands the way you do it Joe as no tap on the hose, and washing hands with a pole is justa pian in the ass IMO I tried it cost myself near on £100 changing all the connections, then changed them all back 4 weeks later as hated it :(

hoselock for me

they are plastic, they do not seem to get damaged too much and when they do, just pop another 1 on ( 1 min job )

I have never had a problem with rectus 21 fittings, I just tuck the hose with tap under my belt so it isn't dragged along the floor.

I use rectus 21's attached to the pole with cable ties and hose repair tape on the pole, to stop slipage(same as RG1). They work ok for me.

Think ill try the hoselock connectors this time round as im not happy with the rectus fittings.

The rectus fittings started leaking when they were on the tap on my belt. They hadnt even touched the floor before they started leaking

Quite often its the other parts that get compromised due to hitting the floor and affects the seal it makes on your tap. Your tap looks as it has had some hard work.

My advice to you is to make a 5-8 inch extension and plug that into your tap, put some tape around where it connects to your tap so you can’t disconnect it by mistake. Then always connect your pole hose to the end of your extension pipe, gravity will make this hang down away from you and you shouldn’t get wet.
You just clip it and unclip it as you go along.
Hope there is a picture to show you mine, it about 9 months old with some fresh tape on it

I would give these a go over hozelock. I have been using hozelock for 5 years and they are good. I have spent quite a lot on the rectus fittings just recently. I will let you know how good they are long term. So far there are no leaks or pop offs so our water lasts longer
