i have a 40 40 system, my resin is uesed after the tank. i have two ten inch filters and a 40 inch r o filter, the 2 10 inch filters were changed about 3000 Lt ago and not sure when the r o  filter was changed,  i checked the water in the tank today as it was filling and it was reading 50 ppm how can i tell if its the r o filter or the 2 10 inch ones?     can anyone help

50 ppm sounds high. Whats your tap reading?
It sounds like the ro 2 me.
I'd phone someone like pure freedom they deal with these day in day out, they should be able to help, just ask them.

just change your pre filters if the tds will come down and for what they cost it wont harm owt .
with a membrane thats getting gloged your water production will slow down , if pre filters are changed regular your membrane will last longer .
have you ever backflushed your membrane with pure water ?

thanks for the advise, my tap water is 450ppm and my fill time has increased, cant say when the r o was changed but the pre filters were done about 3 months ago

changed my pre filters and even added another pre filter and back washed the r o now the reading is 350ppm NOW IM CONFUSED it was 50ppm before i changed the pre filters ,,,,,, how can this be and what to do to sort it out.

Wash out the filter housings as the could well be mucked up inside, this will help a little, normally when the prefilters are used they slow down the production, have you noticed this ?
When was the last time you flushed the system and when you did , did this bring the tds down if so how long for ?
What are you measuring the tds with, (inline or hand held) which ever when was this calibrated last ?

Can be many many reason why this is happening but can be solved removing each cause inline.

you do know you have to flush the pre filters without connecting to the di vessal, as iron filing will kill the resin very quick.

when you changed the pre filters did the producion speed up ?

which are the pre filters you are using , and in what order ?

i have now brought 2 new american pre filters and a new american r o membrain and have flushed them through with the waste valve fully open for about an hour and a bit and still cant get the ppm below 85 and have now starting to give up and wonder if its all worth it. as much as i think wfp system is good and cleans great i am now starting to get fed up with the whole thing.....  ( cant be this hard to get it to work as there is nothing left to replace.

Its possible that you are getting false readings. This would happen if the batteries in your TDS meter need changing.

i was asked to refit the r o membrain inserting the end with the rubber seal last and this did bring my ppm down from 150 to 50 and have now flushed it through for two hours more and still cant get it lower than 50 ppm is this ok or is it still to high to go through the ressin.

i have borrowed my friend tds metre whist i try this as i need to replace my batteries in mine.
