I have had 2, But not for work.Had a petrol freelander, dead under powered and really thirsty, hated it from the start(ex wanted it) More recently had a Discovery, which i have always wanted, tried my best to like it BUT,it was really slow, really thirsty and pretty crap ride comfort, and it was a high spec one. Would not recommend a 4x4.But if i win the lottery i will be getting a range rover as well as a bmw  ;D

I've been using a navara for 2 years room was very tight, but I just put a hard top on it last week and the extra room is great.

If you are tidy when you're working they are fine, but if you like to just throw stuff in the back and drive away then the limited space is a problem.

thats the crewcab pick up ? ? ? ?

doublecab, 5 seats

i thought so

i am really leaning towards 1 of these for my next van, i was offered 1 last year that the engine had blown in it, a mechanic mateof mine was looking into fitting a smaller engine in it ( as i dont really need it for off-roading or large weight hauling

nothing came of it though

I have a ranger crew cab with 650L tank and two fixed reels.

Pro's, go out whatever the weather and looks cool can take crew on big jobs.

Con's, very thirsty, parts are expensive, not much room for anything else poles have to go on top.

I wouldn't want a smaller engine though (its only 2.5L), I dont go off road but its nice to have the power there when needed. especially around Yorkshire, we have lots off steep hills and it just flies up them.

the van had a blown engine ( s.posed to be a issue with them ? ? ? ) a new engine would have made the pickup too costly

i wanted to put a 1 L engine in it, just to see if it could be done, something different and all that

the mechanic drew a blank on it and it got forgotten

For a pickup to be classified as a commercial vehicle they have to take a weight of about 1050kg, with fuel the tank, water, ladders and a couple of people it's getting close but still under.  They can take the weight, but you end up paying for it in diesel and your also lugging the 4 wheel drive system around.

I used to think that the new Navaras were the best however I recently heard that they have a habit of blowing up engines, might be worth looking into before spending the cash.

I run a Mitsubishi L200 old shape (54) double cab
with a 550 tank poles on top
It is tightish for space but can still
just get my guttervac in as well !
It is juicy and takes a bit of getting used to
working out of ,but for me the fact I can pic
up the kids and missus and tow a caravan with it
its just right!!#
