Cleaning porty after cleaning blood?
« on: March 09, 2010, 09:23:50 pm »
Got a job tommorow where a cat has bleed all over a house. Only one room really bad the rest is just bits here and there (a rug so bad it's being chucked).

What id like to know is whats best way to clean my porty (what to use) after the house clean. Have done blood cleans before but only small amounts and used a sanitiser.

Cheers

J

Bleach diluted at about 10/1
Damn good rinse out afterwards and do it outdoors.

Put some in a bucket and suck it through the wand and the hoses . This will also do the waste tank too.

When you say put 'some' in a bucket, do you mean diluted bleach like Dave said. And would this be normal houshold bleach if not what kind??

Also, will bleach foam up? If it does you'll obviously need to use defoam.....

Take hold of the cat, wipe it around your machine to soak up all it's own mess and then chuck the cat!!!

After that normal bio hazard cleaning.

Here to help ;D

Sorry Jase...bit vague wasnt I.

Household bleach is fine at 10/1. Suck a gallon from a bucket through your wand and porty, I didnt get much foam when I did mine.

p.s. Dpnt think the cat survived (id be surpised by the amont of blood around unless it a tiger), it came in da house went in every room then ran out. If it was my choice id find the cat and let it lick up the mess (i aint a cat lover >:(). Hope its ok though  ;D

What a catastrophe for the owner, I'm sure you'll do a purrfect job. Don't forget foil tabbies under furniture legs.

I'll get me coat.  :D
