Less Detailing

hi, guys read an article in window talk NFMW&GC quaterly mag.

"Dog Ears" quote:  by bending the ends of squeegee channel "very slightly" it's cut down detailing by 95%, blade will where out sooner.

Don't know how true this is will have ago myself soon find an old channel.

Anyone else heard of this?

Been talked about a lot on the forum - have a dig around for past posts - the consensus is that it is very effective - all mine are dog eared and it moved my rating from poor to below average - still it's a step in the right direction :D

I dogs eared my squeegie and have found that for some windows I do not need to detail and for others I detail less although it takes the same time but the microfibre gets less wet.

I also cut the rubber to exactly the same length as the channel otherwise it is pointless if the rubber is longer than the channel by more than a little bit.

To improve things overall,using a junior or standard hacksaw cut a square section out of the
end of each channel approx. 8 millimeters.`Dog Ear` the new end as normal.Set your rubber
2 millimeters or so over the `new end`.This method allows for the moulding on upvc. frames.
It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to prepare each channel.
