What are the best boots/shoes for everyday use including ladder work?

in the summer time i chose flip flops ::) :P most of the time i wear water proof boots
called karrimor ;D they r a walkin boot app ::) ;D

MERCURY  trainers - these are cheap as chips at about a tenner and only last 2 months on me, BUT  have a sole that grips on ladder rungs just the very Very best . good on roofs too. i can feel/hear the little ridges on the rungs through the sole

Most high street shops sell Mercury ,usually they are white with blue/red and the sole is blue and white ,soft compound rubber
