I use the top 4 sections of my SLX30 at the mo but am thinking of using that less and only for 3 storey work (putting it back as a complete pole) and getting another pole for domestic work.

The SLX22 seems obvious but as ever they are not available until May apparently.

I could buy just the top 4 sections of my present type of pole but that seems cost prohibitive as I am talking exclusively for lower work I wonder if there is a cheaper option.

gold, it is very light, it is made of alu, from B&Q the xtel section will cost no more than £35 so £60 all in roughly, will handle all domestic no prob, if only for cons the harris will do this on its own

jo doesnt the number 4 section of an unger tele pole fit the harris as well at around £20 a section even cheaper and the option of adding a no5 section to go higher if required,

ive been told it does but havent tried it

We use brodex hydra 3yg. Cheap lightish an a 3 year warranty.

i dont know if that would fit stu, definitly n4 xtel glassfibre section almost fits, just ad insulating tape round the claws that grip the other pole,

i got a slx 22, it fits the bill just right for domestic, ive tried most things out there, ie gangster diy to cut down hybrid, prolong pole, ionics 25ft carbon, i even had a brodex carbon, i would not use anything else than my 22 slx unless it breaks, so i would wait for the slx 22 is my recommendation

I've done fishing poles and they are indeed very light - but for me the telescopic of the SLX sped me up no end over my fishing pole on domestics. Also I don't have the "fun" any more of sticking sections! Or the occasional snapping and repairing fun too!

Cheers mate only ive got a haris  and an xtel and that would be pukka if i can use section 4 of the xtel

The Unger no 1 will fit the end of the harris, and the no 4 fits over the bottom if you take the black plastic off.
I use the standard Harris for most of my work, and the SL2 if I want to go higher.

At least you have tried a few poles s.w.c what make the 22 slx stand out from the rest?

compared to normal wfp its lighter more compact when closed,  OK some company's are starting to make there more compact for domestic work,  before they were 6ft plus in height,  now I'm 5ft 9 and average arm span so the smaller compact pole is easier and quicker to work than one over 6ft,

now compare it to diy fishing poles,  OK its not as light as them, but more durable an telescopic is quicker than push fit section and you don't have to worry about standing back treading on a pole section.

yes very much down to personal choice me i much prefer lightness to any thing else.
 however will give the slx 24ft another go when i am satisfied they have totally ironed out the glitches.
