Gutter cleaning's going mad

Two phonecalls before breakfast and two already booked in for today. Another one tomorrow.
Got really peed off with them today carting the vac, pressure washer, generator and all the waterfed stuff around the houses. Wasn't it simpler when you had a ladder and a bucket?

One downpipe was totally blocked and had to be jetted with a drain cleaner from the top.
Anyone thinking of clearing downpipes from the ground only - it can't be done in my opinion. You'll always need ladders as a back up.

dont be cheap!!

a guy by me charges 150 quid for a 3 bed semi gutter clean. it takes 2 hours.

I charge what I'm happy to earn. Far less than £150 for two hours  ;)

There is a guy near me who is rumoured to charge £300 for a normal sized property.
Fair play to him but i'm not in the rip off business ......... yet.  :)

Just got my new setup this week...petrol pressure washer,7.3m extendable lance plus bits and pieces...
I done a bit of practise on my own place and found the wand much easier to use than i expected,even over the conservatory it was easy enough,so off i went today to do one of my yearly regulars (gutters,fascias etc).
This job normally takes about 2.5 hours,and i didn't mind that at all,but with me new gear i just done the job in 1 hour and 20 mins from start to finish and that included cleaning next doors upstairs windows because i got them messy cleaning the gutters out.....
I am so glad that i bought this gear....and many thanks tp jeff1 for providing the advice that i needed to make that decision.

What do you do - blast the muck out or try to shove it down the s bend?

I blasted it out...it takes minutes to clear up and when the customer sees the amount of crud coming out they know the job is being done properly.The good thing about doing it this way was i had to clean next doors top windows (only 1 bay) but they have booked me in now for doing a clean as well to their gutters/fascias :)...they didn't want me though for the window cleaning as they have a wc already but he wont do the gutter clean... ???
