That's nothing, wait until the gearbox goes.

A lot of money but that's very cheap for a clutch and gearbox.  I thought the gearboxes were £2.5 - £3k and clutch replacement around £600.  Maybe a small reduction in labour charge if donwe together.

I said on another post the gearbox problems seem to be on vans made upto and including 2004 but to be on the safe side I would not want a 54 plated 2005 just incase it is a 2004 model not registered until sold the following year. Apparently the was a modification done after 2004 which sorted most of the problems. Thats not to say a 2006 model wont have a gearbox problem but chances are it would not be the same fault as the early models suffered with. John what year is your mate 2005 onward I hope ;)

Should be ok there then but dont blame me if your not!  ;)  My mate actually works in the parts dept and says he is always ordering boxes for pre2004 models.

Had this on my Nissan Primastar, it was on warranty, but all the garage done was take of battery terminals for ten minutes, then stick back on, apparantly this resets the system, but you may have to reput code into the stereo
