What's your water pressure and tds reading, and how much do you need to produce a week?
This is needed before anyone can advise :)

the average RO is about 2-3 waste to 1 pure

i have a little flow tap on my waste, i get about 1.5 waste to 1 pure, i know the filters will get clogged faster, buts it the way i have allways done it and it works well for me

if you plan to use 400 L a day, you will make your water in 2 hours, isnt that a bit of overkill

i personally think that this is the area people are often oversold on,

you think you will use 400 L a day ( yes on the odd occasions it might be more, we will say the average window cleaner uses 400 L, some use 200 , some use 600 )

personally i cannot see the need for a RO to make more than you need per day, infact when you have storage ( be it a 1000 or 600 IBC or 2 X 210 rain water butt  ) i cannot see the point of a RO of  over 450  L per day

you start the week with a full 400 L tank, and 420 + L of water, you replace more than you use every day ( even taking into account a 450 L will produce less than the full 450 L, we will say 400 L a day )

i really cannot see the point of anything over 450 L a day, its 230 quid, which is a great price

if you find yourself using much more, just add another rainwater butt , so you start the week with a full 400 L in the van and 630 L in the rainwater butt, of course if you have a 1000 or 600 L IBC, you start the week with a much bigger headstart, i only say about 210 L rainwater butts as they look acceptable down the side of any house ( where as i think a 1000 IBC doesnt )

230 quid, you cannot complain about that

I agree. Pure freedom are the next big thing. All hand built. I travel to grimsby from barnsley because they are the best company to use. They design and build to your personal spec.

Does this not kill your di as well ?  How often do you have to change your filters and resin?

I have a 500GPD RO
I have been getting 70% pure to 30% waste, but now its about 50-50 as its colder.
my 500GPD RO will produce approx 1500 litres per day.

Standard ROman type from purefreedom.
I had a 200GPD but then added 3 more membranes, I have been told that for 500GPD you really need a booster pump.

most people selling RO units should advise you to put around 2 litres per minute to waste/drain as this will help extend the life of the membrane as it stops it gettin blocked up.

regular flushing with good water pressure will also help them stop blocking up
