This is the new price structure that I'm considering.

For an £10 a month house. (£120 a year)

I have now started charging extra for first cleans, so far everybody has accepted this without complaint.

First clean £15 - £20,  depending on how dirty the windows are.

Two monthly     £15      (annual cost £90)

Three monthly £17.50   (annual cost £70)

Casual cleaning (they ring me, or I knock when I'm in the area and have some free time - £22.50

One off clean £30.00

Would be interested to hear other peoples thoughts.

I have one idiot round here offering to do houses for £4.50 with a 50p reduction if he does another house in the same street, and an even bigger idiot guaranteeing to be cheaper than anyone else.
If you can get away with it, good luck to you, I know I couldn't.

There are estates near me with  cleaners working for silly money, but I just steer well clear because I don't want to try to compete with them.

Not all my houses are £10, it was just an easy price to use as an example.

stick to your prices,  if some one else is cheaper, thats there problem, they will soon give up when they work all week for nothing,  i would just flyer there area every two months sp people know there is other wc around,  when i started i underspriced a few jobs my self and to be honest cant be bothered doing them as they arnt worth the money, 

now i charge a £1 a window, if people dont like it thats up to them,  there is no point being a busy fool

Sounds good to me, I do something similar, see my web site. I would go for it, just don't over-complicate it.

I would go for 4 weekly rather than monthly. That way you get 1 extra clean per year

4 weekly is monthly!you say thats an extra clean a year but it varies dont it?holidays/sick days/bad weather days.im lucky if i get round 9 times a year!!

1 per month 12 cleans
1 every 4 weeks 13 cleans ( 13 x 4 = 52 )

doesnt quite work that way though does it mr T?do you get round your custys bang on time every month?i dont!!do you not go on holiday?i usually go 2 -3 times a year.probably more like 4-5 times a year in the near future!!do you never get behind with work cos of weather?xmas holidays etc?

in reality it doesnt work out at 13 cleans a year unless youve got no other life than window cleaning or have very little work/part time!!

yes but if you work monthly that will also bring down the number of times you get out, i.e. missing one at christmas or holidays.

We work on a booking system, so if I cant get buy and call them up and put them in the first available slot that suits them, then just move them back to there normal for next month as long as its only a couple of days they have been moved forward.

I work 4 weekly, and if the weather is good I get to everyone like clock work, if not I work the weekend to catch up, no probs.

I feel four weekly is better, because you can keep it the same day of the week for them rather than just showing up. This way I virtually have no collecting because they are expected me, and the ones that don't send a cheque.
