Alexander Swan Insurance
« on: February 23, 2010, 01:34:22 pm »
Hi guys

My van insurance is up for renewal fairly soon and i'm considering Alexander Swan.

Is anyone insured with these people and if so have you had dealings with them in case of an accident. I am with A Plan at the moment and their customer service when I had a bump a few years ago was second to none.

Also, has anyone paid for and used the courtesy Ionics -kitted vehicle that can be included in their policy? How were your dealings with both Swan and Ionics?

Cheers

You only get the ionics system if you already had a ionics system in your van  ;)

Mmmh, interesting. The quote says;

Commercial Vehicle with Pure Freedom System fitted - £360.00

Insurer:         Keith Michaels Plc (Highway)
Cover:         Comprehensive
Make/Model:      RENAULT, TRAFIC SL27 DCI (100)
Sum Insured:      £6,000.00
Drivers:         Insured And Spouse
Excess:         £250.00

Courtesy Ionic fitted Van – 3 Available - £79.90

This policy includes the use of a Courtesy Van fitted with an Ionic System (600L Thermopure) in the event of your van being stolen, written off, or involved in an accident requiring repair. The cost of this cover is only £79.90 per year.

We highly recommend that you take this cover as the daily hire charges for the Ionic fitted van without this cover is £120.00 per day and it will be subject to availability.

Important Note: Standard van insurance excludes a courtesy vehicle if your van is stolen or written off.

No mention of having to have an Ionics system already fitted. Will have to check it out with them...

Just checked with Swans - now no need to have an Ionics system already fitted.

Anybody had experience of their after sales service or how they were in the event of a claim?
