I don't own a gutter vac but I'm wondering if it's being over-hyped, a bit like wfp used to be & still is to some extent. It does look like an awful lot of hassle with no guarantee to actually complete the job totaly without ladders.

Is it, isn't it? :-\

No, I see it's use for those heights but what about average domestic. Is it worth the hassle?

I wouldnt of thought so, if I was to use it probs commercial only.

Is it worth the hassle? Probably not. I have a diy version because I used to hate ladders so it gets used a fair bit on domestic work. In my opinion the average residential customer won't pay the silly money you really need to charge to make your money back. However, for me it's a fairly clean way of removing the sludge, can reach above conservatories and saves using ladders.
If I was younger and had no qualms of scampering up ladders then I wouldn't buy one.
Commercial work is another story.

you dont need to charge silly money for domestic gutter work. i have seen on here people charging £75-£100 for a three bed house :o.    if you use it as a extra service which you offer with your window or driveway cleaning charge a sensible amount. i charge my window cleaning customers £20 per house, i then wait till i have 20 or so to do and i can get them all done in one day easy, thats good money on a rainy day!.

Fair enough, but if you go down the pro route and buy all the gubbings, a generator, power pole, camera maybe a pressure washer too possibly a trailer to put it in, you'll need to do a fair few properties just to break even at £20 a pop. You won't be doing 20 in one day either (unless you are hoovering dust)

Omni-vac is a great piece of kit and does a brilliant Job,   bought mine last September and it will have paid for itself by spring.

Same here. I got my omnivac in October and it has already paid for itself.

Only today, I quoted £256 for a detached property. (64 metres of guttering) and got the job. It's a days work so a very useful sideline.
The pen is mightier than the sword (and a lot easier to write with!)

there was good money in it when i started as you just had to be cheaper than scaffolding, its totally different now there are loads of people doing it and its getting close to doing it for window cleaning money, i quoted less than 2k for 39 houses and a small block of flats and the guy seemed shocked that i was so expsensive and said he had quotes a lot lower :-\
